Better pitfall trap: Find stronghold with End Portal, Dig down to portal, activate portal, set up dark entrance, person activates trap, person falls straight into the end.
Edit: And by professionals, I mean people who actually know what they are doing.
That requires quite a bit of work. And if the person is a good warrior (as all warriors should be) and has potions, diamond armor, enchanted weapons, then he will beat the dragon and be rewarded with 500 levels of XP. What kind of trap is that?
Who seriously walks around in the wilderness with that? This trap isn't designed for Uber warriors, anyway. But I do get your point if someone who had that stuff won the battle, then they now have like 500 exp.

Unless they are carrying something of great value, that's just a minor setback. They'd lose a few pieces of iron, so what?

@Zero_X4- I have to agree with Voloder here. If the person does have those things, then the effort of making the trap is wasted on them. If they don't have those things, then the effort of making the trap is still wasted because they lose very little and you gain nothing.

There is a way to stop the pit fall trap from working. In the end, send 1 person to die but before cover up the sarter platform and obby.

I beat two super hostile maps, see of flame 2 and spellbound, have to finish more. Plan to do inferno mines for lulz and win when it goes out. Have fun!
I agree with Zero. Unless everyone became experts at killing the dragon without creative or an inv full of arrows and scaffolding blocks while I was in California, it's still nigh impossible. Even if it's a whole group of players chasing you in full combat gear with crazy supplies and enchantments, they're not going to have much luck. Defeating the dragon in survival requires specific preparation. I'm no expert in potions and enchantments, but I'm pretty sure most if not all of them are pretty much useless in this case.
But on the other hand, since victims of this trap are more likely to be carrying simple survival supplies, it wouldn't cost them too much to just die and go back to the overworld. But this is still a good trap, since most traps just kill ppl anyway, and the death drops aren't retrievable.
I have killed the dragon before. As long as you have about 5 stacks of arrows, you're fine. As most major clans do, this is not a problem. Stonards defeated the dragon by himself in less than 30 minutes.
But like I said, who walks around with 5 stacks of arrows? Sure it's possible, but not really likely. And did you see him do it?
Why would I troll you. Anyways, never upgrade to diamond armor. Ever. It is a waste. It just adds extra durability that is wasted because you will die anyways before the armor runs out. Use iron for armor. Make a few diamond picks, but mainly use diamonds for swords.
Isn't diamond armor supposed to be really really enchantable? And gold is too, isn't it?

I found that diamond enchanted even with craptastic low level Protection I enchants makes you a god among anyone in iron armor. I wasn't taking damage while being hit with a diamond (unknown enchant) sword. Neither was the other person until I saw his helmet break, he went down shortly after that. As far as enchanting values for different materials, the wikihas a few paragraphs and tables on it. I guess I am still not 100% informed on potion strength. How does one get to III and IV level potions?

Some PRO members and I spent some time today exploring diamond armor (no homo). We found that even unenchanted diamond armor makes you virtually invincible for a long time. I must have spent five minutes hugging a cactus trying to kill myself, with one suit of armor. I would say the old rule of choosing iron armor over diamond is completely busted.

Indeed. Now I'v heard rumor that some sword enchants don't work on people. Has anyone tested this at all? From the sound of things Poison will be the most time-efficient way to kill a diamond armored opponent, making alchemy equipment and supplies a high priority along with milk as a counter.

The best way to kill someone is posion. The reason is that the armour takes no damage allowing you to have good or decently undamged diamond armour.

Making video's of Minecraft stuff is very easy. I mean... you just 100% completely legally get a copy of FRAPS... and then use that to record your gameplay. I use VirtualDub editor, which is free, fast and easy... and the built in compressor on VirtualDub with a downloaded XviD codec... and... bam. Video evidence.

ugh frps, check out debut video instead. free version, as long as you wish, no watermarks. a couple of links to more products is all you have to install... which you promptly delete.

Then they risk walking into pitfalls disguised as mineshafts, or pitfalls to the end, or something similar....
Glad to hear.

Gold items give you a much better chance to hit higher level enchants. You can get access to silk touch investing 3 levels into a gold pick.

Actually, we were just trying to make a fully armored soldier die from one TNT explosion for a video. It's a lot harder than it sounds.
