Whats a cool thing to build out of redstone? It doesn't need to be practical, but it would be cool if it were easy to build, not something super complicated like a symphony made of note blocks. Suggestions are all considered!
If you made a doorbell, would the monsters be smart enough to ring it instead of pounding on your door......Nonstop????
(How do you make a doorbell? It sounds kind of cool even though it's kind of pointless but I have a lot of redstone...)
that'd be:
a button
2 note blocks
2 repeaters
some dust
just set the 2 repeaters to slightly different delays, and the note blocks to your desired "ding" and "dong" tones, and there ya go.
I made a "counter" one time for an elevator...
I have redpower... I'm sort of a redstone maniac... I can't wait to start using it in my survival world http://s943.photobuc...=0627121530.mp4
my computer doesn't really have the capacity to screen record and also play minecraft.
Button activated double doors
Track switching for minecarts
Secret doors using sticky pistons
A secret entrance behind a waterfall, including a bridge that rose up from the bottom of the pool at its base
Large scale excavation
Traps
Self generating structures
A clocktower, complete with buttons to set the time (since the dang thing stopped if I was out of range -_-)
Automated farms
Lights
Working with redstone is fun. It's even more fun with mods like redpower or tiny blocks, where you don't need a huge room just to lay out the circuitry to operate one small mechanism. Inevitably, though, I return to vanilla minecraft, due to wanting to use the new content.

What I did was I put a trip wire down then had red stone lead to a note block
As in ore?
I got this from signature craft!

I think if you're making something out of redstone in survival, it counts as fitting in the survival section.
