When I started, I used to play at my friends house. He had it always set to peaceful, so I had no idea what a mob was. Anyways, when I actually started playing with actual mobs, I say I lasted about 30 hours
I didn't know jack **** about how to play the game, I didn't even know how to place blocks. I ended up in a cave then being scared of a cow since I thought it was a zombie and the first mob I attacked was a spider. During the first night I decided to look into some tutorials and I was fine then.
In my first world, i was so scared of monsters, i switched to peaceful mode. Then i tought it was too boring... so i switch to hard mode. five sec later, a zombie and some spiders jumped on my face. i died. so i survived a full day or two. so now i created a second world, and i got blown up by creepers a lot, but didnt die.yay
First Time I played minecraft was on xbox, I didn't own a laptop at the time. I made it probably 100-300 nights without dieng. I died to falling off a cliff. I watched my friend play it. It was pretty easy, because the crafting was different. The first time I played the pc, I started building, and building was my thing. I gathered resource by digging to at least level 12 on the y axis, and I would mainly vein mine my way through. but I found out about mods, and that ruined vanilla for me. I started working with technical mods like thermal expansion, industrial craft, and build craft, and then moved onto different mods that were more out there like ore spawn, but lately it's been carpenters blocks, chisel, and forge microblock, and the mr crayfish furniture mod to keep the game more of a building project on survival of course. I dislike creative because it feels like the biggest cheat, and I've accomplished nothing. So the first week or two in minecraft I will collect resources.
Spawned in, I think it was late Alpha stage of the game. Did a quick google on what to do, punched some wood, dug underground. Spent 30 minutes punching stone till I googled how to make tools. it was the start of an addiction that would last for years afterwards.
At night, heard something creeping outside, I walk out and it blows up the side of my dirt house. I survived, however.
A few Minecraft days of this went by, so I decided to go and explore, eventually finding a massive mountain range ( The good old mountains ) and ended up finding a cave. I went spelunking for a bit, catching sight of diamond ore as I slowly drowned / burnt to death in Lava.
