I decided i wanted to know how your guys' minecraft runs.computer stalker?
PS;Im running it all on F11 fullsreen
Looking forward,BL,Fancy,fog=far: 150
Looking up w/ ^:200-300
No Bl,looking forward:150 (O_o)
And now for some fun.
No Bl,Fog=tiny,Fast graphics,looking forward:1000 FPS (:biggrin.gif:)
No Bl,Fog=tiny,Fast graphics,looking up:1500 FPS (:biggrin.gif:!)
(Oh god,this next ones fun)
No Bl,Fog=tiny,Fast graphics,looking up,holding F1*:2500 FPS (WOOHOO!)
*If you hold F1 it takes the HUD away and the fps is HUGE but you cant see the fps,so if you let go of f1 you see the fps for a second than it switches back
*me using that ^ trick with no bl, tiny, fast, look up and f1
Now thats plain win.
Too bad that those results are no where near close to what you actually get in normal playing circumstances. Same goes for anyone else claiming over 500fps.
Everyone should be posting their average fps will full video quality setting, no fog, and after playing normally.
I get an average or 130fps on somewhat older hardware
60 fps = normal and playable. This is what LCD monitors sync at (they are 60Hz)
40-60 fps and things will be a bit choppy, but playable
30 fps = still playable, but I personally would not be happy with it.
Under 30, I'm playing a different game or upgrading my system.
80-200fps in my normal playing circumstances, that is, normal render distance, fancy graphics, smooth shading, walking around, and a few buildings on a landscape. Good enough for me.
Actually, I'm very happy with it. Just a month ago, with the exact same computer and system, I was grinding 15-40fps with the same BetterLight mod (or whatever it's called nowadays) walking around with normal fog distance, which I was very unhappy with, mostly due to extreme choppiness. And without BetterLight, it ran around 60-100 with heavy choppiness (30- fps) when night/day came around and chunks were being loaded. It's incredible what a little optimization can do on behalf of the developers, eh?
Here are my computer's stats at a glance:
3.0GHz AMD quad-core (don't remember what I bought for the processor...)
4GB 1066MHz RAM
nVidia GeForce 9800 GTX (hates Windows Seven)
Tops at about 120 with fancy graphics and far rendering, no fog. Ususally around 70-90, down to 60 when generating, with 150+ chunk updates.
AMD Athlon II X4 640 (quad 3.0)
4GB DDR3 1333mhz ram
HD Radeon hd4770
1TB HD 7200 rpm (Yes, this isnt that important :tongue.gif:)
I dont really notice lags at all unless its under 20, hence my netbook on all high settings, though I am surprised that I can hit 25 average on far rendering and fast graphics on my netbook :smile.gif:
I average 60-150 with Far, Betterlight, Fancy, x64 texture pack playing normally. The range is so large since I'm often multitasking and running a private server and several other projects in the background.
