Yeah, but mine drops to 30fps as soon as I start mucking around updating any chunks. This is pathetically low when I can run anything bar crysis at full Vsync. (And I'm only "Not sure" on crysis, as I havent tested it yet)
Does nobody realize that all these stupidly high frame rates mean absolutely nothing! Your average monitor displays at 50 - 60 fps so if Minecraft says 2500fps or even 150fps your probably only seeing 60fps. And the human eye doesn't see much more than that anyway (there human eye doesn't actually see in fps so it's impossible to make a meaningful precise comparison).
The point is all you people boasting about huge fps.. It means NOTHING.
Anyway.. My Mac which is about 3 years old runs on far and fancy at about 50-60 fps consistently.
I have no idea how some people can play with anything under 10 fps, it'd drive me insane.
Don't be so butthurt about it. We all know we can't dissern a difference.
It's mainly just boasting about our beastly computers.
50-60-ish on tiny/fast. Lags to around 16-20 whenever the game updates chunk or I'm under some massive construct (like elaborate treehouses I've made). Playable usually on a decent level, but does hinder the ability to build things because of the lag. I'm trying to understand though, why standing in a mountain or deep in a cavern wouldn't lag as much as it would when I'm standing under a somewhat equally sized structure made of cobblestone, wood planks, leaves and glass.

Wow someone is mad.....
My monitor is 60hz but i can easily tell the difference between 60fps and 125fps when playing quake.

I get about 90-100FPS on Fancy/Far with smooth lighting on my TV rig - Minecraft is pretty pimp at 1080p on a 40" screen, though creepers sometimes scare the pants off me. Not a particularly expensive computer either:
I'm really curious about the people who play on their netbooks: I only get about 4 FPS on my Aspire D255, which I blame on Intel graphics. What netbooks are people using that can play Minecraft at a decent speed?
On SMP, normal distance, fast, no bobbing and smooth lighting, i get about 6-7 FPS (with optimine). In singleplayer, where I use fast, tiny, no bobbing and smooth lighting, i get about 14-18.

That'ssss a nice ssssignature you have there...
It would be a sssshame if ssssomething were to happen to it...
I have an alienware m11x gaming computer and I only get 2-8 fps. And on my normal desktop which has about a quater of the graphics I get 80fps. I have to play on peaceful because the frame rate gets too low when the bad things come. What the hell???
I get about 6 with no fog on fancy, and about 50 at max fog on fast.

Ever thought about playing league of legends? It's an awesome free game, and I get free stuff if you sign up. So follow this link, play the game, and then we both benefit. http://signup.league...6331e2560658368
Is there a way to get rid of that green graph when trying to see FPS though?
100-200 fps depending on where i am.

80 FPS on far, fancy.
120 FPS on normal, fancy. (the setting I use)
500 FPS on short, fast.
None of those tests used the F1 glitch.
That's the FPS when walking around in SSP.
