Sponges, I hate them. It would be nice if they had some purpose, but they don't even look good.
Sponges can soak up water. So they are not really that useless.

This might surprise you, but Diamond block. Why would you make a block when you could make powerful tools and weapons? If you can afford to build with Diamond blocks it shows alot of effort! that and sponges, dead bushes, and golden tools.

If it's multiplayer, no item is useless. In single player any item that is decorative is pretty useless. Sure it makes your base look nice and gives you that homey feel, but it won't help you if you're in a room with lava all over the floor, you're out of iron bars, your pick broke into some shards, and you know there's a big creeper right there....
*yeah... that's all some parody song reference...*
Try getting to the Nether without flint from gravel
I've done this many times, actually. All you need to do is place some wood next to the portal and then put some lava down beneath it. As soon as a cinder hits the wood, it will burn and light the portal.
On the other hand, gravel is also really useful for descending in the Nether where you can't use a water bucket to safely drop down to a lower area.
I actually found a use for dead bushes... as a slot filler in my item sorter.
Ironically, they are useful for that purpose precisely because they are useless for any other, so I probably agree that Dead Bushes are the least useful item.
True but do u like dogs with only red or white collars, huh or white rugs But I agree with dead bushes
Emerald without mods on Pocket edition cause u can't trade so it's useless and who should get 20 emeralds for 5 pieces of bread they are the most hard to find :3 hope u agree and also dead bushes
Actually I do. I've put one in my main cave under my city. This way, I know if I should sleep before going back up and prevent mobs from spawning too much on the surface.
Dead bushes or shrubs. They look cool in their environments, but is there even a real use for them? It takes a lot to actually be able to pick them up, and they just look stupid anywhere besides deserts.
Gravel is up there

Y'know? I bought Minecraft because I thought it was a war game where you had to create tactically placed proximity explosive devices...
And a fern..Those tiny spruce-like baby tree ferns...

Now in 1.8 they do. They remove water

Clownfish - the rarest fish is the least useful. Eh?
Deadbushes - a supply of sticks I suppose.
Poisonous potato - has use on an MCMMO server if you grind alchemy enough. That's about it though.
Mundane and thick potions
Compass - I use F3
Clock - does anyone use this?
Jukebox and noteblock - has potential but neglected.
Actually I do. I've put one in my main cave under my city. This way, I know if I should sleep before going back up and prevent mobs from spawning too much on the surface.
Rotten flesh. Only good for trades, and even then they need a ton to get any emeralds. As a food it's horrible.
I just took the Minecraft Noob test! Check out what I scored. Think you can beat me?!
