I'm trying to build Frilioth's new iron farm for the 1.14.3 pre 2 snapshot (yes, that's the version I'm playing in, I'm out of iron and needed a fix for my 1.13 iron farm sooner rather than later and didn't want to build one with current mechanics that I'd just have to rebuild again in a week or two) and it relies on getting some zombies in there to scare them with and making it so they won't despawn, which Frilioth's video and all the information I've been able to find in other places says you can accomplish by giving it an item, finding one that's wearing armor, or naming it with a nametag. Except I've tried all those things and they keep despawning anyway. Not at the same time/under the same conditions that most mobs would despawn, but if there's anything in particular that triggers it, I haven't figured out what it is yet. Obviously, with the new golem spawning mechanics being what it looks like they're shaping up to be, this presents a problem. Anyone know what's going on?
