So on my survival minecraft world i have come across pillagers that have just randomly spawned in the area of my base twice now. The first time it was 2 of them, one was the captiain and the other guy was just a normal one. The second time it was just one normal pillager all by itself and it scared the crap out of me.In this world i have never visited a village or an outpost in this world. The nearest outpost is 800 blocks away. I am playing this world in 1.14.2. Does anybody know why this is happening or how to stop it?
Moving to a biome that villages can't spawn in might help.
The Wiki is unclear, first it says they can only spawn in flattish biomes, plains, savanna, taiga, desert and tundra and then in the next paragraph it says they can spawn anywhere except mushroom isles.
Fencing in and lighting up your base may force them to spawn outside the fence.
And the standard slabbing or covering in water, they should only spawn on grass blocks but it's been claimed that that only works if there is some grass left somewhere near for them to spawn on.
I get them all the time. I am lit up and have only a deserted village on my island with no beds. Pillagers are always roaming by me and hanging about. I find them easy to kill as they tend to mess about in the sea while I shoot at them. I have found them in my setup mooching with the sheep. They do not tend to shoot back while the slaughter ensues so tend not to bother me.
Just stay away and shoot them from a distance and they will just watch you as you kill?!!!!
