this challenge is really fun, me and my friends have just began to try it heres our vid:
HAHAHAHA, such a funny episode. you should figure out how to actually post the video up here so we dont have to go to youtube though.
And also you should be trying to get enderpearls as fast as much as you can because later on it can be really challenging to get them. (due to all the other mobs otherwise endermen are easy to kill)
I am getting a computer capable of running a screen recorder and a decent render distance on MC at the end of this week or beginning of next week. I will start a youtube channel, and the first thing I intend to do is start this challenge. On hardcore mode. Oh, and I will not trade with villagers, seems cheap.
Hate to necro this, but I just finished giving this a shot on hardcore, will post all 30ish screenshots I got throughout the series. Unfortunately, the enderdragon got me

GREAT find in a mineshaft chest.

Left the mineshaft with no bucket, found a village with a smithy.
SCORE!
Lost a few screenshots because I'm dumb - so I went caving again and found a zombie dungeon with THREE buckets. Used it to go to hell, found a fortress, this was how I was killing the buggers.
Last thing before the end - enderballs. I used the water to clear some plains.
Again.
Got 12 enderballs (took like 6 hours because of rain) and went searching. Lost just one.
this is possible but it is highly impossible and even if you got to the end it would be hard to kill the enderdragon.It would probably take a few years to.
So you arent allowed to use workbenches in the villagers homes? D:
Only if you want to craft a single chest or jukebox (and only once in that entire world), but if you do that, you would lose tons of points. (About the same amount of points as getting nine diamonds without a pickaxe.)
This is epic hard, since have never spent my first 5 min. without using a crafting table I will use a seed with NPC village, Easy mode and a normal world.
I'll upload pic later today or tomorrow.

EDIT: I am using the seed Krosis and am making good progress. I took your "safty Tunel", bluemagic123, just that it is 1 block lower, being slightly safer to kill skeletons.
Here it is:
Day 1, a nice begining
I started in a Plains biome. I killed 3 pigs, but sadly diden't find any chickens or cows, so no breeding till I get a Carrot. Too Bad.
The First thing I did was look for the vilage.
After Finding it I looted the Blacksmith Chest, and planted the saplings. Affterwords I removed some logs from the houses to make charcoal. While the wood was burning I checked out the viligers trade offers and collected some dirt and coptured 2 citizenz like this:
They lurd most zombies for the night and the next day (it was raining) The Viliger in White (along with the one closest to my house) where the only ones who survived.
Night:
I spent my night in the Lager House
How the tunel Works: You want to have a flat terrain on the outside of the hole, so skeletons from far away have a lower chance of hiting you. Also try to stay 1 block away from the hole to prevent spider hits. To Colect the drops just go 1 Block foward.
2-5 Day, a Mole's Life
Boring 3 days. During the day I choped down trees, colected dirt, worked on my tunnels and made walls around the farm (I might find cows or a use for sheep one day, or mabe I can find chickens). At night I killed Monsters, worked on my tunnels and mined.

One time i was cuting trees, only to find a Skeleton. He killed me, but I maneged to destry the leaves that were protecting him from the sun. When i retured I only found a pile of bones...

Day 6, a Dangeros Cave and a Dark Duel
I was mining when I found a dark cave, I decide that I would get mre torches then tunnel through it. I left the blacksmith to find another Skeleton waiting for me under the trees. This time I took a screenshot:
He maneged to hit me when I took this xD. I decided to jump like mad and try to get a crit on him. It worked, he cought on fire, but got under another tree before dieing. So then I gave him a hard blow to the face and he shatered.
By then It was almost night so I burned the wood and killed of the monsters of the night....

Day 7, a Huge Deception and a New Treath
Today was the day I was going to explore the cave, I made a safe tunel that cuts the cave in half. Not frogeting to light the cave as I went. Soon after I Reached a dead end with some gravel on the floor, I decided to explore the other way. I soon reached a dead end with More gravle. I removed my safety Tunel and stared to remove the gravel to leave, but That was when I saw a hariy aracnid, I killed it by droping a gravle on top of it (gravel rocks). I noticed more darkness behind it. I was happy that I would not need to dig more to find a cave. It is anoying to break stone with your hands. I will see how soon I will explore it. And hopefully that dreaded skeleton dosent reaper.
Current Chest:
I am not going to uplode pics, exept for achivements and challenge completion, due to slow internet.
I progreesed a lot since I first started, found a dugeon, made a grinder that pulls the zombies into a 2 deep hole that is located in the middele on the front row, then dig a hole on the outside, only 1 block deeper. you then punch the zombies feet. Collected carrots, patatoes and a spade, Heading out of my base in search of other resorses i stumbled apon pumpkins, chickens, slimes, cows, clay and a raiven. Inside the raiven was a mineshaft! Got alot of things there, most importantly melon seeds, iron, redstone and a death. That creeper coght me off gard. On the bright side It killed a skeleton. I got back there befor my items disapered, and colected a bone .
So the important things in my invintory are:
Vines (goten from shears), Iron (2), Buckets (5), 36 Brick blocks (to make a nether base), Food (over 5 stacks), Iron spade, Iron legings and Cobble (10), Chests (4).
Importent things done:
Incorporated Shugar canes, pumpkins, melons, carrots and patatos into my farm. Main base hase cows, another base has chickens. Explored a minshaft. Made a Zombie dungeon trap.
Things to do:
1. Find Clay
2. Find Lava
3. Make a Portal
4. Build a Nether base
5 .Find a Fortress
6. Hunt blazes and endermen
7. Go to the end.
8. Complete challenge
*get a bow and complete Iron armor, find a tundra

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.

You're just not allowed to use them. You can even make a house out of crafting tables if you want, as long as you never craft anything with them.
Man I really need to get back into this...
