The video shows only one side, and a tunnel.
I, and all others except for those of you building it, don't know if there is more than that, and there could most certainly be nothing more to it than that.
Show us more, or to us it may be nothing more than a tunnel and a sloped triangular wall. Which isn't very impressive.
A town with details such as sewers, lamp posts, a park or two, and various other details can be more impressive than this, because there are details.
You have not shown anydetails yet. No details = not very impressive. Details = can make a lot of things impressive.
Also, the only materials i can see you used are moderately easy to get(Such as wool), it just takes time.
You're missing the point of the video... like a lot of people. We're not trying to impress you, we're trying to make you curious.
It's awfully arrogant to think that the organizers of Minecon would come to you because you want the Guiness Book of World Records to hand you an award on stage for something we're not even sure is legit. You can claim it is all you want, but there will always be skepticism. If you prove that you can show us something amazing, then I will believe you. At this point all I've seen is a big white wall with some ladders on, and I am not impressed.
You're missing the point of the video... like a lot of people. We're not trying to impress you, we're trying to make you curious.
Trying to make us curious? You have the wrong idea of what a video like this is supposed to do. If you want to ask for an award, you need to show us what you have, not make a teaser video.
I think it's more like people thinking, why should 30 guys that built a wool pyramid in 14 months be featured at minecon, while there's tons of other people who have built much more cooler things even by themselves? Players that get featured at minecon are people like youtubers, who do cool things with the game and are well known within the community, not some random guy who pops up with a 6 second clip of a wool triangle.
No I'm pretty sure that's not what people are thinking. I've read and replied to each comment. They're pretty clear about what they think. From the non-supporters.. It's one of the following:
1) We need to see more to know if we would want to see more
2) It's just a big dumb wool pyramid
3) You can't prove you did it
4) I could do that by myself in less than a day
5) Your video sucks because it doesn't show us anything
I wish you'd stop that sarcastic attitude, I didn't say anything bad about your build, I said that we don't know what the hell it is, so why would we want to see it at Minecon. I don't care about suggesting anything to Mojang or getting made a fool out of, that's your job to get this noticed.
None of us are going to go to Mojang and say "Listen, we really wanna see what this is about... and Minecon is where we want you to show it to us." just because you really want it to be shown there, I don't think anyone here is going to lie and say that we really want it to be shown at Minecon, from WHAT WE CAN SEE in your trailer, it's a a big pyramid, it's not sparked the curiosity that will get hundreds of people wanting it to be shown at Minecon.
I know that Dinnerbone (at least, I also think Notch/Jeb are the same) do not like it when people continually suggest things to them, they prefer finding things themselves. If they found your build and thought "Hey, this is actually a cool thing, we'll get the guy to unveil it at Minecon", then congratulations.
You will not get enough people to get excited about the mystery of your pyramid, anyone can use WorldEdit or similar tools to make a massive shape, so there's no indication on what you have made. Just because it's made in survival, a big pyramid won't wow enough people.
Seriously, if you want to get this noticed by Mojang (and even then it would still be extremely hard unless this takes off), you need to give people an idea of what to look forward to, maybe if you'd built something amazing before and people were very impressed by it, then yeah the secretive big reveal would work, but for a first big thing, it isn't going to work.
And I'm not trying to be a douche, I'm being realistic here, so please don't take it the wrong way and start replying in an immature way again, just trying to give you some advice.
-GodWaffle
Please do explain to me the impetus for Mojang to highlight it at minecon, if the bulk of their audience has already seen all the sweet little details, months in advance.
It's awfully arrogant to think that the organizers of Minecon would come to you because you want the Guiness Book of World Records to hand you an award on stage for something we're not even sure is legit. I think you're misunderstanding. We don't want an award. We are applying for a record, not an award. You, Mojang and the rest of the world... have ZERO impact on that application. Guinness makes that determination, alone. We apply, they review, they do their due diligence, they rule on the matter, and if they deem it is a record, they certify us.
Read how I write. Do I strike you as a stupid person? If I wanted an award, from you, I wouldn't have shown you a bouncing white box and then a giant wall of wool.
Just to add to my previous post, I went onto your channel and noticed the other videos on there, such as the tour video.
This video would be a MUCH better way to advertise your build, the trailer just doesn't give you enough detail on what it is, however in the tour video we can see the organization and planning that's going into this.
From watching that video I will say it's impressive, and I hope you're going to fill that pyramid up with a lot of rooms and chambers to explore.
I'd suggest everyone take a look at that video, shows a lot more that's been going into this project (However it's not vanilla, just to make that clear to some people, seems heavily modded)
But from that, keep up the good work.
-GodWaffle
Good! We made you curious enough that you spent time looking into it, doing your own homework, and... we didn't even have to spoon-feed you gloriously retouched photoshopped pictures to bedazzle your eye. YOU, are the kind of person that I would have a one-on-one conversation with about something like this. And even though I don't agree with all of what you say pertaining to a strategic approach to introducing this work to our audience, I do appreciate, and respect, your intelligent, well thought through, clear and concise responses.
Thank you for caring enough to actually do what the video asks of you!
I for one would like to see more of the build. Your video piqued my interest, and while the tunnel was boring at first, once I saw it was an internal structure, I began to wonder just how big the pyramid was. I think it may be a model of the Great Pyramid at Giza, and would love to see more detail. If you could post a video after MineCon of the entire thing for those who won't be able to go, I would love to watch it.
I'm thrilled to hear that you wanna see more! I'd love to be able to do a post-minecon video for you and anybody else that wanted to learn more about the team and the build itself, as well as share in celebrating a goal accomplished through hard work and dedication!
Here's hoping our community echoes your sentiments enough that we'll get a chance!
Gratz on getting a 100+ replies tread.
You sir, should become a politican, you just racked up alot of views and replies on a single topic whit nothing more then hot air and some vague promises whitout any proof or good presentation.
Kudos for that.
On the pyramid or whatever this is, from what you show its plain and boring. If its something amazing as you say, then you failed hard at presenting that.
I understand and respect the enormous work you put into this project. In fact its amazing that you/your team is able to coordinate stuff that well and build a working infrastructure which supplys this project.
Id go ahead and say this is way more interresting than the thing you build.
Thanks, I think.
But you gotta figure 50 of those 100 replies is just me, taking the time to respond to each reply. So when you look at it like that... 100 posts is probably over-inflated. But... it's important to me that whether I agree with the responses, or not, I do want people to know that... yes, I asked you to take a minute of YOUR time to watch MY video... and therefore, in turn, want to acknowledge that you have done so and respond in kind.
Edit: I just looked to see and it's actually at 200, so you had already accounted for me replying to each post. Good on you
I don't think this is too great. It's just a pyramid. It doesn't take any thinking or any design or anything. It also didn't even look that large from the video.
I don't think this is too great. It's just a pyramid. It doesn't take any thinking or any design or anything. It also didn't even look that large from the video.
When you say that based on what you can see, all we're doing is "simple grinding"... how'd you come to that conclusion. Almost everybody else is saying the video doesn't show them anything, and they need to see more?
If the pyramid was hollow with beautifully manicured landscapes... then all y'all would be sayin' it's just be beautifully landscapes with a wool roof overhead. LOL.
There's a way to prove we've done it in survival, we've got it, and that's why I have ZERO worry about backing up our claim.
You're also a little bit off on your history. Try researching some of the architectural wonders that pre-date pyramids. There's a reason they're not around anymore, and it has a lot to do with them being vanity projects.
I am criticizing your teaser first and foremost. The problem you have is that all you show seems to be a pyramid face, which either greatly underestimates the quality of your work (which I am guessing), or completely gives away everything you've done (which would be underwhelming). You are asking people to get excited over nothing right now.
Should be done in creative? So MORE effort can go into planning and execution? If you knew what you were talkin' about. Do you have any idea how complex a task it is to co-ordinate 30+ people to build in survival, and be as efficient as possible, limited by the resources available? Naw man... you're way off base.
I know exactly what I am talking about, and no matter how you cut it time was wasted. Between 30 people, executing any plan means that you (at any given time) would have 10 people collecting resources for every 1 placing, unless everyone is working with completely enchanted tools at all times. But that would be impossible, since it would rely on xp grind time, which would negate the time savings from efficiency. By building in creative, you would have 10x the size of the structure in the same amount of time. If you wanted to increase complexity, you could get 5-8x the size while multiplying your planning effort between the team.
You're also a little bit off on your history. Try researching some of the architectural wonders that pre-date pyramids. There's a reason they're not around anymore, and it has a lot to do with them being vanity projects.
Pre-dating the pyramids is babylon, which very much still exists in modern-day iraq. The ruins of babylon are vainty projects by their religious elite, as are all ancient ruins (as royalty and dieties were mixed) Before that, not much of anything. To create architectural mammoths that last the ages it requires a massive sacrifice on the part of the population, which is why there are no significant mammoth ruins after the Romans in the Western World; the peasant population could build some castles here and there, but no road system (let alone roman-style forums). Even current mammoth projects are not designed to last thousands of years because it would be pointless to do so; there is a goal in mind and then we use the minimum resources possible to accomplish it. Hollow steel and glass is far easier and faster to construct with a smaller labor force than giant stone blocks, which is why we don't do it that way anymore.
I am not knocking your project, because I don't know what it is. If it is piles of blocks just to be big, then you have the pyramid problem (nobody did it before because it wasn't worth doing). If it is something more, you haven't done anything to make us excited for it. If anything, your teaser video was counterproductive for only showing a pile of sand.
If your goal is to be featured at minecon, then your teaser would need to show about 50%+ of your structure to see exactly what we are supposed to be excited about.

Nicely done. I have a lot of respect for your response there. I do disagree with parts of what you're saying, and that's cool. I'm good to leave it at that. I've put some new material up.
Seriously though, thanks for putting so much effort into this thing. THAT is the kind of energy we want people to expend. We love it. We're hard workers too! Hopefully everybody will find that meeting point and back us up at some point, while letting us do our presentation our way
After I finished watching the video, i was like "whut? 0.o. Just a pyramid?"
But then I took a look at the video on Planet Minecraft and i was amazed by the hard work done by a 30+ team in 14 months. you have obviously put a lot of work into this.
I've read most of the comments, and watched the (quite boring) video. I was completely unimpressed, with both what you've shown us and your attitude. You have not revealed WHAT program it is that you used to record while flying, you have no proof that you've built in survival. You claim that you'll only "prove" whatever to Mojang, but who cares? It's the community that will GET you to Mojang, not them themselves. You can't just be a like ***** with no content. Please, we have enough of those already.
What I'm essentially getting at is you've no proof, content, or interest to even THINK of getting recognized by Mojang.
-Edit- Read the last page of the post after I posted this, you have new content up? You might want to edit your post and link it.
I admit, I at first agreed with all the less than favorable comments about this being unimpressive. I thought it might just be a kid trying to get more youtube subscribers or perhaps a troll. But then I ended up reading all the responses and am watching the video posted on your planet minecraft page. I had to pause the video and comment, because I am impressed!
For a while I was super awed by the pretty timelapses of builds done in creative with a team of skilled builders, using their fancy texture packs and lens flares and using music by Approaching Nirvana or something similar sounding. But I got bored of them ha ha. Not that they're any less impressive, it's just that there are so many out there now and if you're building something big that's how you show it off.
You have something to share that isn't typical, so people are comparing it to things they're familiar with. Like FyreUK. People expect it to be huge but intricately detailed and pretty, just eye candy. I'm sure the interior will be really interesting, but the best part seems to be not the size of the build or how it looks, but all the stuff that went into making it. To be honest, this sounds like a really fun project and I bet your team enjoyed it a lot.
The focus on survival, the role play aspect, having to work together and rely on each other, the planning...it's really awesome and it's a shame that most people will only ever watch the teaser, get bored and then post the same thing so many people posted before them because people do not read before they post, like, ever.
New thread has a fresh new vibe to it, and also let's people know (because it has a different title) that there's new content for them to view, as per their request.
You're missing the point of the video... like a lot of people. We're not trying to impress you, we're trying to make you curious.
