Why is my ink farm not working? I recently made an ink farm in 1.13.2 in a small server with some friends. The farm itself is based off of ilmango's design and squid are capable of spawning, but spawns seem random. After about an 8 hour afk session I only have 51 ink.
All river/ocean biomes are drained within a 128 block radius of the farm and afk spot. Farm is entirely based in a river biome. Farm is located between y level 46-62. Afk spot is at y level 54, 24 blocks away from one side. 4-5 hours of the afk were done with me being the only one on the server. Then another ~5 hour afk session was done resulting in just over a stack of in. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Reloaded my chunks using F3+A multiple times.
How big is the farm itself? My farm is 36 x 18 (not completely rectangular because river biome) and it will generate about 6 stacks in a 6 hour afk session. Also check your collection system. I had a problem with minecarts stopping or jumping tracks until I added a shutoff so they aren't running when I leave the area. This is especially important if your farm crosses chunk boundaries.

You mentioned ocean biomes, did you also do the beach biomes? Squid spawn there as well.
No beach biomes within hundreds of blocks.
