- You suddenly find yourself falling, and with no way to slow your descent, you slam into the ground with a sharp *CRACK*. You're in an unknown land with no tools, no supplies, and a broken leg. This gonna be a long day. -
This challenge is rather simple and not nearly as restricting or arduous as the others currently on the forums. Basically, the challenge is to not jump, as you have a "broken leg". The thinking is that you've managed to splint your leg, so you can walk, but you're unable to pull yourself up even small ledges. Just moving around on relatively flat land would be easy, but things like climbing cliffs or caving could be problematic. Also, this would mean no pillaring up. Anyways, some ground rules:
You CAN:
Use blocks like ladders, stairs, and slabs to get to a higher level.
Jump into some water and swim around (Steve happens to be exceptionally strong and can tread water with only his hands).
Break, place, or touch any block, use any item, and attack any mob.
You CAN'T:
Jump (Duh).
Jump out of water onto land (You have to use a ladder, stairs, or a slab).
If you want to be really hardcore, you can install wd1966's sneak toggle mod here, and just always have sneak turned on.
I think that's about it. If you any questions or comments, please post them and let me know. Also, if anybody attempts this, I'd love it if you would post some pictures and write a little about what the experience was like.
what if you fall into water and have no way out? :sad.gif: do you just have to drown?
Well, if you're far from your spawn, you don't want to lose your items, and if you don't have any ladders, stairs or slabs (or anything to make them), you could swim around until you reach some trees close to shore, then break the blocks between you and the tree to reach the tree, then harvest the tree to make some the afore mentioned items.
This is supposed to be less arduous? Man. Better hope that you don't spawn in hilly terrain.
It might be kind of interesting making an existing map "handicapped accessible" though.

If you spawn somewhere with no trees or at the bottom of a cliff, I guess you're kinda screwed. But once you get some wood, you can access most places by just making some slabs. With some ingenuity you can probably get yourself out of all kinds of jams.

Slabs? Pshaw. Real men go everywhere by making the world flat!
Can you walk off ledges though? Or do you have to build yourself stairs down them?
Also this challenge would probably drive me insane because I spend about 90% of the time randomly jumping when I'm bored... maybe it would cure me of that.
I might try it.

Yeah, you walk down levels, just not jump up levels. (By the way, I do the boredom jumping, too :biggrin.gif:)

Uh, I'm not sure where you got roleplay from, but it's just a fun little challenge for you to attempt in your SSP world.

Poop.

Yeah, I guess you could do that, if, ya' know, environmental destruction is your thing. :tongue.gif:

That's what I plan on doing, I'll probably make it something really random and strange like ; so I am not tempted to hit it
I'm tempted to do a let's play
Awesome! I can't wait to see more of these!
And then we can have the "Total body paralysis" challenge.
Sig'd: Once
Well those might be a mite too sadistic, but I'm sure the blind man challenge, where you can't look at the screen, will be fun. :tongue.gif:
