What is the point of the arrows to the right and left of each trade when you click on a villager? I'm only ever offered one trade, and the arrows don't do anything. I'm probably missing something obvious...
This chart has been around, but it's good, thanks. I think it's clear trading is mostly a rip, so villager factories are pretty much a waste of time. It might be fun once or twice, but it's no substitute for mining and crafting.

The old chart wasn't accurate anymore , the original creator updated it recently.
WOW! look at the blacksmith. one option is giving him 8-9 iron ingots but u get ONE emerald back. the other option is trading 7-10 EMERALDS for a iron sword. u can make 4 swords with the iron ingots by urself. RIP-OFF!
Over half of the trades are useless and require you to kill the villager to breed a new one with a better trade.
No. See the arrows pointing left and right from the line showing the offer? The left arrow shows "lower level" trades, the right arrow the better "higher level" trades. Just make one trade at his best (or only) offer then leave the trade window. When the purples circles particle effect bubbles off the villager that means he has re-jiggered his offers and probably has a new one.
They are absolute ripoffs! to me, the most prominent were [1 emerald for 5 arrows] and a double trade - [5 diamonds for 1 emerald;;;;;; 12 emeralds for one diamond sword] Imagine doing that! That is 58 diamonds thrown away for a stick! must be a.... no inappropriate jokes.. xD

Some people really need to stay away from the government propaganda department. Let the brain-washing machines have a day off, they must need maintenance by now.

Villagers update their offered trades once you complete one and then close the trading window. Sometimes they'll add stuff, other times (if you've used one a bunch) they'll take it away. There'll always be at least one though.
