so i was just digging out a hill at one point for my farms when all of a sudden i see half my forest missing tree blocks everywhere. And the strange thing was is that i play single player and no lava was found to cause a fire so i was confused. i have only had one lighting storm hit (Btw been on the world for 124 days) but the lighting didn't hit the forest. some of the trees were missing all if not most leaves and some wood. then my screen glitched and game crashed. i restarted my game and the forest was still gone. the screen still glitches in that area of chunks either above or below ground. this weird glitch caused my screen just to spaz out for a split second second. if anyone has same problems but fixed it please tell me. i don't wanna restart the world
P.s - here is the seed: 104817593 if you wanna play on the world, its quite cool
Agreed that doesn't look like fire damage; chuck corruption seems likeliest…
Before restarting, you might check your backups to see how far back the problem goes, this would be the simplest 'solution'.
Using something like NBT editor you could try removing the affected chunks from a copy of the world.[This should force those chunks to generate fresh: you'll lose any changes you made to those chunks and the plants etc won't be precisely the same, but the damage would be limited.]
You cantry removing the relevant region file to force a similar regeneration. [Region files cover 512x512 block areas, so this would be more heavy handed editing, but doesn't require an external program.]
