I made this topic just to see what all you guys and girls favorite building block is in a minecraft survival world.
It would be interesting to see the factors that mattered to all of you may it be purely based on looks, practicality, or availability. I just like to see what you peeps like to build with in both survival and creative
I like stone bricks. Something about them is very satisfying to use. And I use logs as supports and to just break up the appearance of the stone. I don't use cobble a whole lot, except for walking on. It's not too difficult to smelt it all into a far more attractive block. Also I play with a lot of mods so there's always more new blocks to build out of; for instance, I use a lot of Dwarven Bricks from the LotR mod.
I use Oak wood if I'm in survival and sometimes cobble when I'm bored.

I usually go with wood (preferably oak) for aesthetics, but if Stone Brick becomes available? Awwww yeah.
I also like making wool floors. A checkerboard of Lapis Blue and Cactus Green is my preferred pattern.
