On our video please comment anything we did wrong. We would like to make cosmetic changes to our tower after we make sure everything is alright. Also here is the link to the next challenge i will be completing. I am currently doing the hobbit species portion. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1332250-challenges-♦fantasy-city-build♦/
Would we be allowed to make things like docks and stuff like that? I spawned on an island, and I want to be able to go to the islands for resources and stuff. Would that be allowed?
Fantastic video and the tower looks fantastic! I know you pointed out some stuff you weren't sure about and it's all fine - I'm not such a huge stickler on the rules as long as you're keeping to the theme of the challenge and you guys clearly are. Well done. Very well done. I love it. I think you're the first people to finish the challenge too!

Yeah, of course. You can build whatever you want outside, but it just won't count as part of your tower unless it meets construction rules.
The middle hallway is the gathering place for the refugees at night, Why? I have no idea.
My water source.
The three doors on the side are where the beds are, You can also see the redstone wiring. You can guess what it's supposed to be.
This spider was trying to have a staring contest with the royal mage... Only there was a roof in the way. I think the spider would have won though, It has alot of eyes.
Forever both a Chrono Trigger fan and a brony.
My avatar is an alien parasitic killing machine that has used all the DNA on the planet to make itself into the ultimate being.
Finally finished my 50x50x3 room mine, I found diamonds for the first time UNDER THE 48th ROW. I would've never found them if didn't dig a trench there.
Pics coming, I'm working on converting it to mob farm now.
Mob farm (finally) finished, took a bit longer than I thought. Pics:
Before and after in map view:
Progress pics:
I started by sealing all holes and digging trenches:
Then I started building canals, using signs to separate the water. A problem with this technique is sometimes the mobs will just decide to chill in the space between water and not progress. There was another method that worked better but I guess Mojang patched it
The last part is when it started to get hectic. I destroyed the torches and started raising the platforms so that mobs couldn't get back up on them. Skeletons were shooting all over and the spiders - who could climb up onto the platforms anyways - were constantly assailing me.
Creepers blew up parts of the farm several times (they always blow up the nanosecond that they're jumping out of the water). A zombie picked up this sign, so we played "target practice" where I had to hit the sign.
Speaking of creepers blowing up stuff, one hit my chest.
(I had to go and grab a new crown after this)
The last part (which I actually didn't do last) was the "harvester". I had the canals lead to a lava blade. There was one turn that the monsters would get stuck on so I used pistons.
Other pictures:
There's several slime chunks near me, I have almost a full stack of slimeballs now. There's this one cave that the slimes really seem to like though...
(killed those ones, came back later):
<imgur's not working properly right now, if you can't see the image it's of a large slime>
I just finished 'Expanding Your Tower'. I am loving this challenge .. the villagers really add an interesting dimension. I'm up to 25 now and will probably go ahead and spawn some more. It was a pleasant surprise to find out that some of them have some really great trading offers. Nice bonus! I was getting depressed about the lack of cows in my area. Extensive searching was turning up nothing. But finally a long trek to the south was successful. And on the way I discovered a desert temple .. woohoo!
Requirements: (I also have 16 pieces of food which are not pictured)
second floor hallway and dormitory - 10 rooms (I didn't post pics of every room). 8 rooms open off the hallway and 2 of them are tucked back into corners and accessible through other rooms.
Storeroom, Kitchen, Water Source
Storeroom with iron door to kitchen
Kitchen - this really fun to do. There are some great furniture tutorials out there.
Another view of the kitchen
One more kitchen shot
Water source relocated from the main part of the house to the mine entry area
Main hallway, my room, my study, common room, mage's room
new hallway running the length of the main building .. upgraded floors from stone to wood
main hallway with view of stairs
My room with chest and bed
my study with desk, fireplace with reading nooks on either side
common room with fireplace, big table and benches
mage's room
Exterior of house, just added spider proofing. Addition at the right encloses the mine entry. I'm hoping to pretty all this up a bit in the next phase.
Just a question: If you can only go outside during the day, does that mean absolutley no going outside at all during the night? like, no building during the night too?
Or can you still be outside if you are inside the city walls? I'm a bit confused at this. XD
You can be outside so long as you do not try to enter your tower while it's night. So if you get caught outside after dark, you can't run inside for safety.
Okay, it took me a lot longer than I thought it would, but stage four is complete!.... It probably had to do with adding Thaumcraft to survival, and my desperate need to complete all the research. Almost done with that
Warning, lots of pictures, though I think not as many as last time...But I could be wrong
This guy managed to sneak into me house >: ( Sword time!
Exterior:
As you can see, a lot has been added...
Must. Build. High!
Centered:
A view of the top center:
The base of the room beyond the entrance:
The entrance:
The (Improved) Gate:
Now with redstone and lined with torches!
A Quick view of the Dormitory hallway to show the number of rooms... (I can upload pictures of each additional room if you want me to.)
The Public Bath:
This is the dining room, with one additional change:
You see the doorway, there? Yeah, that's the public bath... Not very sanitary, is it?
The Underground Farm:
Leading off from the side of the cathedral:
Down the stairs:
You will come to the farm (For some reason this is a popular place with the villagers):
Cute golem workers!:
A Room to Worship ME (This is the circular room in front of the entryway):
The entrance is on the second floor, opposite the study:
A royal throne for her royal pain-in-the-**** (Quite literally since the seat is made of gold, even if the metal is soft.):
All for the Mage:
Looking up, you'll see some height has been added (If you haven't noticed that from the pictures of the outside -.-'):
Here you have the third floor, showing the new additions!:
On the fourth floor, you will see an area with the arcane levitator from Thaumcraft(Able to make you float!):
This is the shaft that the levitator pushes you up (I couldn't get a good picture of it, but the levitator sparkles!):
This is looking down the shaft from the room above:
The new mage's room:
A pic of each wall (because I love the blocks from Xycraft!) along with an infusion table from Thaumcraft:
Blue, pretty blue:
Green:
And black (with a bed!) These pictures really don't do these blocks justice because they have animated textures and they shine!:
Now from the last picture you should be able to see the enchanting room that the mage so rudely demanded:
It's actually quite a long tower connected at it's top. Here's the water source that serves as the transportation method:
One last picture, just because I managed to catch the sunset:
A New Addition to the Queen's Room:
Now, if you look at my room, you'll notice that I have managed to add some new things (hint, its not the chicken egg):
First things first though before we head off into the side hallways. A queen must always have a royal bath, preferably right next to her bed so she doesn't have to go far (lazy queen ):
It's not just a bath, it's a hot tub!:
Now, lets head back around the bed:
And up this crescent staircase:
Rise: The Age of Thaum:
Coming up the staircase you will enter... A really large room (With a sparkly tree!... Only on sundays):
Here is the base of the room that connects to three different rooms:
The first room to the left is just a doggy storage room. Its shape is identical to the other two:
Then, we enter into the main Thaumian room!:
A top-down layout of the room:
And of course the cute golems that you cannot live without! Now comes with bow ties (cause, you know, bow ties are cool. ):
One more image of the room for a better perspective:
And finally, we have the Forge room!
Though the Infernal Furnace does most of the work, I do have two different smelters. Along with these, I have a large chest, an anvil, and a cobble generator:
The infernal furnace and the infamous Brain-in-a-jar... There were construction nights where I slept in this room... It kept looking at me!!!!:
Cute clay golem and a Nitor light!... Oh, and a chest:
The cobble generator:
A top down image of the room... I only wish the infernal furnace fit my royal nether style and white/black obsidian:
And before I forget, food levels!:
Plant Chest:
Meat Chest:
That's all folks!
Question, does my light source for the farm work? You said lights in the ceiling, and I thought that that might be appropriate as the Nether has become really hazardous to me... But if that doesn't work I'll modify it with glowstone and upload pictures of it.
Wow. Just... wow. That's an awesome tower and the Thaumcraft stuff fits in really nicely. Lights in the farm work, I didn't specify glowstone so however you get it to work is acceptable!
SilveraSea continues to amaze me. It's one of the greatest progresses I got to see and I'm stunned by how creative some people can get even within the confines of the challenge. It's just...stunning.
Oh a side note, I have some free time for the week but it's unlikely that I'll get anything done on my challenge world due to my bothersome addiction to another game. *facepalm*
So... I just had an idea for the mage's room, but it would require it to be higher in the tower.
Like a lot higher... so how would I be allowed to move her? Could I destroy the golem and rebuild it where I want the room or would I have to push her up stairs?
Wow. Just... wow. That's an awesome tower and the Thaumcraft stuff fits in really nicely.
Thank you! I thought that, with the mage, things would look lots better if there were more magical items and blocks. And I added Xycraft just for the pretties. ;P

Thanks for the compliments!
Would that game happen to be the game that, (at times) is very irritating and it forces you into a suicidal gameplay? (Aka Runescape?)
Thanks for all the support! I'm glad you guys like it!
But really, Redyoshi, your sizable mob-trap and farm are even more amazing than my castle. I could never have the patience to construct all of that just for a farm, not to mention the time it would take harvesting the goods. And the only mob traps I've ever created were small-scale.

It would probably save you trouble to just rebuild her, but I'd get far more pleasure out of pushing her > Muahahahahahahaaaaa *cough* *cough*
... I haven't spent enough time perfecting my evil laugh...
Um, on a side note, does anyone know how to disable the automatic smilies? They're making my evil face look all nice :/
I'm not even bothering to quote SilveraSea above me. XD
Firstly, I think you can disable the smileys by clicking "More Reply Options" and then, on the right, uncheck "Enable emoticons?". I've never done it before, though.
Anyway, your guess was half correct. Undoubtedly you've read my one-shot on FanFiction; do you have any comment? But onto your question. Yes, it was RuneScape I first got addicted to, but it was not the game mentioned in the post you quoted, and it wasn't the game that's annoying - something happened in real life that's so dreadful I had to suicide on RS to let it out.
3 bedrooms for the Villagers
My room and the storage room. The only entry to the storage room is from my room which has an iron door.
My mine is inside now - so convenient!
Main entry (iron door visible though the window) and water source
lindgrenj6 - what a great video!
