So, I've decided to move to the end city, I have a house, glass halls, the whole bunch, but there might be downsides I don't know about. Does anyone know any downsides, and can trees grow there?
There are a few downsides that I may know of about this:
- You won’t be able to light up Nether portals in the End. Meaning you can’t link up portals between your builds and areas of interest.
- There is no source of water anywhere in the End, as far as I know, so you’ll have to bring two water buckets with you and make an infinite source. There is no lava as well, so make sure you bring a few buckets with you just in case but don’t try to make an infinite source of lava.
- If you want to avoid staring at Endermen, you’ll want to wear a pumpkin in the helmet slot. It’s fairly effective however it obstructs your view as well. (Unless you press F1)
- There is no dirt anywhere in the End, meaning you’ll have to bring dirt from the Overworld if you want to farm crops/trees/animals...(You may want to get yourself grass if you happen to farm sheep). Also bring some sand with you for glass and growing sugar cane.
- Dangerous risks of falling into the Void. When you go on an adventure, always carry what you think isn’t too valuable.
- There are no villagers in the End. Meaning you’ll have to carry them from a village in the Overworld to the End, which is gonna be a tough process...
There could be more downsides about this but that’s the least I know...
Just figured out that when I'd turn 8 years old, the 23th of November 2011, my parents could have offered me Minecraft as a birthday gift. Sigh...
Fun but frustrating platformer. Saves me of boredom when I don't feel like playing Minecraft. Knowledge of 8-bit old-school videogames is optional tho'.
Another downside is that, if you want to live in the outer regions of the end, you need a constant supply of eyes of ender to go through the portals, and you'd also need to secure them. You can try making a giant railway but good luck with it.
Your roof should be max 2 and a half blocks high, or the enderme (3 blocks tall) will just get in your house whenever they please.
If I could give you some advise for modded minecraft... (Assuming you're on 1.12.2, if not then sorry.)
You might want some sort of item that could prevent death in the event that you anger an enderman or fall from a height (except the void), and if you use a Totem of Undying, try getting Baubles and the addon that lets you wear that.
Bonsai Pots. You'll have as much wood as you want at the cost of just two dirt, ten bricks, and two saplings.
Perhaps a jetpack mod, which could possibly prevent void deaths at the cost of RF/FE.

I used these techniques - of course there's no such thing as an "infinite Lava source," but that's probably a joke in Any case - and /or else "no lava as well" is meant half-literally (i.e. , no "infinite source" of /"well" Lava). Basically, you have to BRING, Everything in (get used to having Many repetitive Chests of Far-extra - and basic - resources, in Many places).
It's - yes - a Long Trip, Back to. The End.
I have an Ender Chest technique of putting Eyes of Ender in there, And also already-Crafted (could be the original Blaze Rods, though, for even-more compact storage) Blaze Powder, As Eyes of Ender Stack to a full 64, instead-of just 16 Ender Pearls. And realize you'll both Use and get Ender Pearls /Eyes of Ender, plentifully in The End.
So you Can "go End again." Pun probably unintentional (vis-a-vis "home," phrase).
Since Magma Blocks - and apparently, Both upcoming 1.14 Village and Pillage Update's, Sweet Berry Bushes, and Campfires - do Not set /start Fire(s) or destroy-items, in them (often from Mobs dying in them, hint, hint), I'd used them with Water. The only trick of-course there, is to have them not-beneath too-small Seemingly-"infinite" - so more than the-minimum 2X2 easiest-use as-opposed to 3-in row, only-use middle one - Water sources, since individual Water Source Blocks will be-Removed (randomly if occasionally) by Magma Blocks, specifically.
These created areas of "limited Enderman activity." Also, not-only do these other damage-causing Blocks (Netherrack and-Fire would be the cheaper - more-dangerous - pre-1.14 alternative, to the Magma Blocks) do this, but Water-itself makes Endermen Teleport-away, and can occasionally seem to me to make them de-target, when Aggro'd "on" /against the - given - Player, (hopefully previously-)targeted.
So these areas didn't need - really - 2 1 /2 Max. high ceilings of-roofs. And since it's slightly-specific to have Endermen Teleport-into the same-Block, as is the-only one that's not-immediately a "not-safe, Teleport-out" zone, I suspect if I'd Tree Farmed, I could've surrounded the given Dirt Blocks with such - 3-5 I've covered - things, and had minimal-enough risk(s especially if smaller than 2X2 based Trees).

Words of Warning: - You need a software (Clickteam Fusion 2) to run this game.
- The game will probably crash a lot.
- You will rage so much.
- This game is too easy for me. \_(^_^)_/
grass doesnt grow in the end ( in 1.8 i remember)

Actually, I'm doing modded MC, and I have waystones to get me to anywhere I need to go, and I know about the roof

My favorite game is Minecraft 2: Tokyo Drift
No sleeping = phantoms half the time you enter the overworld.

You can't sleep, unless, y'know, "blowing up" is your thing...
