My first mod was More creeps and weirdos mod for beta 1.3 even though I joined in alpha I am a very good modder :biggrin.gif: I have also downloaded Aether mod and minecolony in beta 1.7.3
does MCPatcher count as a mod? It changes the game code and adds things like better grass or random mobs. In that case, it's pretty much the only mod I actually use and definitely the first mod I ever had on Minecraft.

Mystic's Universe -- Minecraft, Mass Effect, Skyrim, Game Reviews and more --
I installed "Optifine" and "Magic Launcher" day one...never ran the game without them. I also installed several HD texture packs at the very start. The one I settled on and use to this day was/is "FancyCraft" by JJJas0n. Can no longer recall if it was the first pack I auditioned, but once tried I never looked back.
As to game mechanics altering mobs, my first and only mod is "Better Enchanting". Didn't add that until some months into the game. At that time it dawned on me that vanilla random enchantments, after several attempts where I wasted lots of XP on weak enchantments I didn't really want, discouraged me to the point that I had ceased enchanting at all. Thing I like about "Better Enchanting" is that while it removes the randomness it doesn't allow you to enchant an item more powerfully than is possible in vanilla.
1.8.1 - 1.1 and up
I still remember the days of me spawning right by a pyramid, then looting them.
Nice Bro Same Here... Lol I still remeber having 3 pet hamsters all with diamond armor and a flarp jumping on us...LOL
Me too
