The "boss" from the "Portal" video games is named GLaDOS. She promises you cake once you complete the game. You never get the cake
"The cake is a lie" is a quote from the game. I believe it was written on the walls somewhere in Appeture (the facility in which the games take place). If you like puzzle games I highly suggest you try a demo.
I've never played Portal but my fiance does so know enough about the game that many may think I have played. I like posting a sign that say the cake is not a lie above my cake because it makes me laugh. I love cake cause it is place-able and makes my builds feel more like home. I wish they had more place-able foods.

This exactly. I like seeing food on the counter/table in the kitchen/dining room! I wish we had more placeable food, apples, bread and mushroom soup would be an awesome start
i've never even made cake! I never really saw a reason to. same with some other food items. i just eat meat (steak/chicken/pork chops), baked potatoes, or bread (early in the game if I don't have many animals yet).
I've always found that once you can chickens and cows, its a handy food source because you never have to kill the animals. As for wheat and sugar cane, by the time I've made a farm, I've got diamonds lol.

I offer you advice in the form of criticism. You may follow it, or ignore me in a naive and blissful state.
I think my obsession with cake started with GLaDOS.
ALL HAIL GLaDOS
