So, I've had this one survival world for quite some time now, and I've already killed the ender dragon and basically beat the game. I don't want to start a whole new world, but my good survival one is getting boring. Any ideas of what I can do?
You could build a pyramid with a maze and traps inside, or maybe build a floating ship with a sail. Heck, build a giant pit down to bedrock filled with lava at the bottom.
Build an entire city underground. As in make a giant cave using tnt, flatten out the bottom of the cave, and build a village. Actual villagers optional

I'd say upgrade your house. I've done it many times. I've gone from shack to cottage, to bigger cottage, to 2 storey house and now to a full out mansion.
Also, automate stuff using redstone. It's fun and challenging, but makes your creations more interesting.
Build farms. Whether it's xp or melons, they will take some time if you build them big enough. The bigger it is, the more it will give you.
Make rivers or canals with TNT. They are useful for transportation.
Have you killed the wither yet? If not it could be a goal for you. Kill it a few times to get a few beacons around your base. That is what I am working on atm. You can build an enderman farm in the end since you killed the ender dragon. You can turn your base into the center of an elaborate town of some kind. Maybe surround it with an insanely high wall. Create a witch farm if you know of where there is a witch hut. Take advantage of the new update and go fishing. Create an afk fishing farm. I have yet to read up on those but it could be fun. If you only found one strong hold you could go hunting for the others, just for fun. Make a huge nether base. Make a gold farm. And iron farm. I can go on and on. Of course pretty much all of these are my goals but figured they might help you too. Also, sometimes when you are working on advancing goals (ie killing ender dragon) you ignore making your base look the way you want it to. If that is the case you can upgrade your base. Add a huge library, hidden rooms, a bathroom for no reason at all, villager trading hall etc. Have fun.
Start a project, make something you will be proud of. Minecraft has an endless supply of things you can do, just because you have killed the dragon doesn't mean its over. Try make a iron golem farm, gold farm or end farm etc. There is allot of things you can do to make it allot more funny, especially because of all the new biomes and blocks in 1.7. There is tons to do!

USE your imagination... Make paths leading through the jungle, make the inside of a cave look nice... Make a tree house... The list goes on forever. :3
EDIT: Oh! Also, go on an adventure! Explore you world, make another base far away, connect it using rails!
I got my inspiration from a minecraft journal I read, seriously, it was the best journal I had ever read, he was roleplaying it the whole time to, and he made such amazing things!, he has had that world for a year or two now, I don't think he has ever had another one. He actually has a download for that world... Its like more than 200MB big!! He has explored so much of it! And there is sooo much to explore in it to. He told me there are places I wouldn't be able to find without his help.
Back in teh old days of minecraft, we didn't have the ender dragon. Our world was fueled by imagination.
Seriously, though. The only reason to kill the ender dragon is for exp. Minecraft is about building, not slaying. Build a castle, a cottage, a farm, an apartment, a gold farm, an iron farm, a witch farm, a computer made out of redstone. Whatever your heart contends to.
