The short version (for those prone to tl;dr):
Normally mobs don't spawn in mushroom biomes except for those from mob spawners. If I bring/spawn villagers to the mushroom biome, will the "zombie attack" mechanic let them spawn in the mushroom biome?
The long version:
I have a SMP server that I host off of my computer so my personal friends can play with me. I restarted the world recently with a seed that has a mushroom biome just a hop away from spawn. I found a skeleton spawner and I'm currently working on setting it up for an exp farm. BUT... I was thinking... how awesome would it be if I could have an iron golem spawner going while I'm idling and waiting for the skeletons to build up? Two birds with one stone kind of a thing. I checked really quick on SSP creative just to verify that golems will spawn there, and they do. But I don't know if the zombie invasion thing happens or not in those biomes. I certainly wouldn't want to AFK near it and come back dead from a zombie deluge. Anybody have any experience with making a golem grinder in a mushroom biome? I don't want to build something and find out later the design is bad because I didn't take zombies into account (I do everything legit on my server).
I think so. The zombie siege should happen if you have Villager + Door. Also, they spawn with none of the conditions required besides being at layer 64 and being in the village zone, so although mobs don't spawn on Mushroom Islands, these should still spawn.

One question, how will you get villagers THERE if your going full legit?
It's easy, just tedious. Create a "house", then destroy all the doors on the original houses. Let them wander to the new "house". Build a new "house" a bit farther away and bust the door on the old one. Rinse and repeat. Just don't let them get killed by zombies and you're good. I saw somebody do it in a video tutorial for an iron golem grinder.
make an small area outside the mushroom biome (it means the biome were no longer mushroom biome / shore )
let the zombie spawning, at any rate there's must be spawned an zombie vilager, then you can cure it

Mushroom biomes aren't always far away from mainland. However, it will be a daunting task I imagine.
I said this. Two days later, my computer's motherboard melted down and I had to get a new one with Windows 8.
Irony in the first degree.
