Ok so here is the deal. I was just inside of my house, placing my diamonds in the chest. Some odd reason, a creepy wind-blowing type sound went off. I didnt know what it was, so i just kept doing what i was. It kept doing that for a while until i went crazy and exited the game. Can someone please please please please tell me what that creepy wind noise is!!!!!!????

Just . This video is old, but your sound is likely the one that plays at 1:23 (The sounds toward the end were mob sounds obviously). These play when there is a dark space nearby. For example if you had left a small dark space in a wall or attic of your house these sounds could play. It is my impression that the sounds that play have some bearing on the size of the dark space.

I love those sounds, while mining it lets you know if there's an area you haven't explored close by. Just turn around while it's playing so you can figure out which direction you have to dig.

Like Rodabon said, it is very probably an ambient cave noise. Just look around your house for the dark space, and light or fill it up.

Actually, that would be pretty cool. Tornadoes and stuff in Minecraft. I can just imagine all the pigs and sheep spinning around in the sky.

Ha ha ha i can so imagine that, with the animals flying around. Thank you so much guys i just realized that today when i was in my barn in the NPC village, it happened. I was like wutthe hell theres no caves around thats impossibru! So i lit up my large DARK barn and it stopped.

Hehe... So light wards off wind? Just another queer thing in MC's code that would make no sense in real life.

Are you on multiplayer? Sometimes a distant minecart autorun setup sounds like these noises too. We've been pranked or confused by it before, hidden redstone systems and random traps and trolls/diversions.
