Probably, if they keep updating it I'm sure it will last. It's like CoD it's been around for a long time they make new games (Updates) and people buy it and play it.

Minecraft? Dieing out? And, of all things, in only 3 years?! Sir, why waste my time with taking seconds to read such things as this in the thread list. >:/

I've found that out of all my games, no matter how long I quit minecraft I always end up going back to it.
I feel like everyone will still play it, even in a few years.
Now whether Mojang will continue to come out with new content in a few years, I do not know. I feel like they will still be going quite a ways down the timeline though. Afterall, minecraft is their trademark game.

Minecraft is one game that has sneaked its way into the gaming community. Even though it may not have great games it is a classic game that focuses on mechanics not graphics. Minecraft has endless possibilities now that mods are trending.
I've been playing minecraft for 3 years (check my forum registration date if doubtful) and I'm still loving it. I believe that if they keep making fun and interesting updates, then people will play for much longer than 3 years.
Recently, I've been wondering if Minecraft will ever die down. I have been noticing there is a small drop in downloads a day.
Market saturation. It's been out long enough now that most everyone who wanted a legal copy has bought one. There will still be some amount of new players who are just introduced, children who get old enough to have their own account, replacement accounts for various reasons, but the sales of a product invariably slow down after a time because of saturation.

It's just a question. He's not asking for scientific input.
