What do you guys think of tekkit/hexxit if you have ever played it.And FTB first i had ftb then i tried tekkit and hexxit i like hexxit, but i think ftb is worth it especially the infamy
I, personally, prefer FTB, but I have little against Tekkit other than the SirSengir and CovertJaguar fiascos.

Let’s play good guys against bad guys… Yes. Let’s play that. Are you ready? You’re the bad guy. And when you’re bad, you just run. That’s fine right? Well… Shall we play?
Tekkit is the industrial side of the world where you can build lots of machines to do the work for you and have some modern and science-fiction tools to play with, have an atomic war with someone, pretty fun and lots to do.
Hexxit I have not tried.
But I believe that its pretty much the same but with some more things added and a few removed.
No, Hexxit is much less tech-mod based.

Tekkit is my favorite i love designing automatic factories and using all the technical stuff
hexxit is more for adventure with the custom weapons and dungions,
Good things never last, however. The new tekkit is a big bucket of crap. Why would the creators for a moment think that it would be a good idea to remove both industrialcraft and redpower!? The best mods tekkit had to offer! And to compromise for it they added some weird mod that allows you to fly to the moon? Yeah, exactly what I thought minecraft was missing /sarcasm.
Well, they couldn't update it with Redpower because Redpower isn't updated. I think their rationale for removing Industrialcraft is that Thermal Expansion does everything it does, only better. Sure, they could've done without Galacticraft.

I've played both but think I prefer Hexxit. I've only been playing for 3 weeks and have all this fantastical stuff I've no idea what to do with, I keep reading the wiki for things I collect. I've done quite a few battle towers (And currently live in one I restored after) and one of the ones that go down into the ground in layers, but I feel like I should have a goal/be headed towards a "goal" but I'm not sure what. Any ideas?
Just fufilled a small goal with a pet Chocobo as I adore Final Fantasy VII!

hexxit is more fantasy, there is like 10 dimensions
I've never played hexxit, so I have nothing to say about it.
Tekkit classic was pretty fun when I used to play it. The only thing I really messed around with though was Equivalent Exchange 2. The tech mods just confused the nether out of me =P I haven't played the newer Tekkit, but I'm pretty sure it's about the same as most FTB packs.
Although you didn't include it in the title, I also did quite a bit of playing around with FTB. Once I gave FTB a chance, I started learning about some of the fairly basic mechanics of Industrialcraft The furthest I really got was setting up an industrial centrifuge, and around that point, I just lost interest in the mod. Industrialcraft didn't make the game more enjoyable for me. It just gave me a few extra things to craft that made the game easier, which isn't my playstyle. I enjoyed the terrain changes from ExtrabiomesXL, and really immersed myself in Thaumcraft 3.
Long story short: I dislike tech mods overall because they basically play the game for you after a certain point. Mods like Thaumcraft 3, Equivalent Exchange 3, and Twilight Forest were pretty fun but everything else only provided a brief charm.
I love hexxit. Tekkit is too confusing to me. Hexxit is more adventure styled and that's the kind of mc I want. The only bad thing is that I can't find any hexxit creative servers

<--- This is Reshiram. If you mess with it it will burn you up.
I prefer FTB better. I like adventure RPG mod packs a lot, but hexxit seems like a jumble of random mods. I'm not all that good with those technical mods but u do understand forestry and thaumcraft.
I wasn't big on tekkit at all. The contraptions were very confusing (for me anyway) to get set up. And like another poster said, once all those machines are doing everything for you, what do you do yourself? hehe. But I really like Hexxit. there are so many ways to go out and adventure. You can go underground to find several different types of dungeons with a diverse array of mobs which can be very challenging. Or you can stay topside to take on Battle towers or Hunt recently fallen meteors for space material to craft items from. There are many different weapons and armor to choose from, some of which will extract either the blood or souls of defeated enemys which can be used to craft more gear or even consumed for various boosts. But one of my favorite things to do is hop dimensional doors that litter the landscape. They take you to worlds that can net you great rewards, as long as you can avoid all the traps protecting them. I havn't played to many mods, but I really enjoy this one.
