The video series you could make of your world would probably last a couple of seasons at 30 minutes per episode. Its very impressive. I have one world I played for a couple of years but started a new one with 1.12 and then again with 1.13 (couldn't face fixing all the farms).
You are tempting me to go back to it as my current world has a single base, no elytra, no beacons and no shulkers.
On the other hand I'm quite enjoying the starting from scratch thing so I'm kinda torn.
Excellent way to document everything though - kudos!!

Yeah, am toying with doing a couple of videos, not something i've done before.
I don't think i'd ever start a new world; its like starting a new world when i go to the new bases/outposts i've built, but i always have top notch gear to start with, and if i need to get a big pile of resources or charge up my mending gear i just nip back to the previous base and get stuff and use the XP famrs i have. Of course, my game save file is getting rather large now (820mb) but its manageable!
Thanks for your positive comments. I now have a chest full of Kelp from the farm BTW, so thats working nicely - of course not currently as i'm elsewhere!
MC Day 13504: Things have been a little slow just recently. I started work on building an outpost in the southern sea area where all the newly warm water 1.13 areas had generated. There is coral and a few wrecks in the area, one of which is on land as I mentioned in an earlier post. The outpost is a more conventional house design for me, primarily of wood. I’ve only really done the outer shell and the floor/room spaces, and am currently mining out a space under the house. Still a lot of detailing to add. There will be two small underground floors accessed by water elevators making use of the new 1.13 mechanics. I intend to also have a 2x2 exterior water elevator in which I’m hoping to be able drag leashed cows/sheep etc to pens on the lower underground floor. No idea if it will work!

If it doesn't work maybe try boats? It'd be awkward shoving them in one but easy transport!

Regarding water elevators. Obvious thing, you need 2, up and down.
It works universally. Just push mobs into it and they will be transported. HOWEVER!!! Since down uses magma blocks, they might take some damage. How to avoid this? Have them on a leash, go there with them, and make the opening for each level 5 m tall. You can still jump out as soon as you will be able to, yet taking no damage. And with that mob on leash, you'll drag it with you.
MC Day 13793: Since I died in the 1 tree Island challenge a few weeks back, I’ve returned to my main world. Currently still at my Southern Ocean outpost near all the coral and wrecks and newly generated 1.13 stuff. I decided firstly to make an exhibit of the beached hull I found, so I cleared the sand from beneath it and built an enclosure around it on put it on “mounts” to make it look like a museum piece. All chests and stuff still untouched.

Another side project was to sort out a village that was near to another wreck close by. This village was on the coast, in a desert biome and had a temple attached. But I noticed whilst most of the buildings were made out of sandstone as befits a desert village, the church was made out of cobblestone. That edge of the village borders a rivers/plains biome, so I assume some cross generation occurred (there was also some grass path blocks nearby). The village was also on a slope, which meant as you went inland, the buildings went higher, and it was rather a mess. Thus after I levelled it, and wishing to keep the original buildings, some of them became two storey …

Seems Villagers are much the temptation for our new aquatic menaces …
Lesson 1 – Remember to pack your boat away
After the village work, I decided to clear out the nearest of three Ocean Monuments that were in the area. After breaking thru the top and killing the first Elder Guardian, my goal was to set up a Conduit and kill the other two. However, I forgot that you needed to place a dummy block when placing the Conduit in the middle of the cruciform, and placed it against one inside edge instead - and due to the mining fatigue I couldn’t mine it off lol. In the end I took some water breathing potions and went after the other two. Interestingly I only found one more Elder Guardian. I also discovered that one corner of the temple had mis-generated and was open to the sea. I wondered if the third Elder Guardian had somehow got out, but I never found a trace of him. The temple also straddled a ravine, and one of the support legs was rather long lol. There were also lava block bubble columns, and it made me wonder if I placed them over the temple would they be able to kill guardians like they kill fish and I could collect the drops; a kind of simple farm. But guardians are immune to their damage it seems ….

Lesson 2 – Defo remember to pack your boat away
Finally, as mentioned in my previous post in this thread, I completed my water elevator to bring leashed mobs down into my mob pens on the underground floors. Is a 2x7 block chute with a button that reveres the flow for 10 seconds or so using a hopper timer and a block swapper. The default is soulsand so no wandering mobs can enter uninvited. Worked really well. As long as I move forward on the down pull, I can exit the bottom and the mobs get pulled out before they hit the lava blocks, so no damage
Solid work. I don't know where you are in the world, but the mounted shipwreck museum reminds me of our UK ship The Mary Rose - Henry VIII's Tudor warship. It was raised from my local sea-bed in the 1980's Remember it well - well just), and kept enclosed for years as it was treated (Continuously sprayed/treated because of the wood/timbers.)
One day I'll get round to clearing an ocean monument, one day!

MC Day 14255: Been nearly six months since I last posted an update. So I thought I’d do one now, as I have a new project I’m contemplating . I’ve already made the decision not go up to version 1.14, as it will nuke my two villager trading halls/iron farm combos in my world (to some degree at least) . So its 1.13 for me as of now.
Somehow I ended up going back to my first base to get some stuff to take back to the Ocean monument base … and kinda stayed there! I decided perhaps to try and complete a few things I’d left unfinished. The first was the project I had to build something in a huge overhang to the East of my base. I had already created a hidden rail link ages ago which would take me to an elevator and take me up to the insides of the overhang I’d mined out, but I never finished the elevator, which was based on the “flying machine” principle of using pistons and slime blocks. Since then, we now have elevators using water and soul sand/magma blocks, which I’ve utilised in other builds, but I wanted to keep the mechanical idea intact, so completed the build (which I found on YouTube, a design by someone called Alonofer20) and thankfully, still worked in 1.13!). However, I still have no idea what to do with the space I mined out!
The Overhang
Other pics
View from the top of the overhang looking back at the base
The hidden minecart line. I recently added the return branch (at the back) whereby the player gets auto ejected from the cart which gets destroyed by cactus and sucked into a hopper array then pumped into a dispenser and out onto the departure line.
The elevator. About 50 blocks high
The inside area. I added a piston door which only opens when the elevator is at the top, so you can’t wander in and fall down the shaft. There is also a button to bring the elevator up and a lamp which tells you in the elevator is at the bottom or not.
The space available. It was mined that shape to fit the existing shape of the outcrop, hence its odd shape (it is symmetrical along its length though). Any ideas what to do with it tho!!?
To the West of my desert base was another early project – an underwater outpost. Although relatively complete, I had not addressed the issue of getting some cows and sheep underwater to the pens below. This time, having built a water elevator using soul sand/magma blocks in my previous entry for just that thing at the Southern Ocean outpost, I built one here. There is also a large underground ravine here which had an outlet near the outpost, I played around with that a bit and added a 4x3 block water drop down to the ravine floor, with one side having magma blocks and the other side soul sand, and the two rows in the middle just water, so I have a quick and easy way down to the ravine.

I’d also spent a long time in the Nether, acquiring Nether Quartz ore(NQ is one of my fave building blocks) and Glowstone. Mined in excess of 1500 glowstone, and enough ore for 42 stacks of Nether Quartz blocks. It was here I decided I might try and build something in the Nether, maybe be a Citadel or something. There is a huge open lava lake on the main link line between the Desert base and the other bases, and its quite lofty too, I just don’t know where to begin in getting rid of a big chunk of that lava! Think I need to work out the surface area the build will take up first.
Just to finish, whilst in pursuit of NQ, came across two frozen Ghast fireballs. Have found the odd one occasionally, but never two ...
Like Minecraft forums or interested in my world? Try My message board, it's better moderated because I run it directly and have run Internet message boards for 21+ years! Better software and I have much more control to keep the content more up to date. Free to join, 13 years+.
No, but that's a big elevator! Why did you mine it out again?
I can't rightly remember! I think I had a number of ideas such as a Minecraft Zoo with all the diff mobs name-tagged inside, or fill it with item frames and collect all the diff minecraft blocks possible. However the shape i mined out in the end was a bit odd, with a kind of high chamber at the end, so I considered it as some kind of temple with some kind of statue of a deity for the world built in the high part, but went on to other things ... as you do.
I think its something to do with Ghast fireballs in flight getting stuck at the boundary between the loaded and an unloaded chunk, and instead of despawning they get frozen, to be discovered when you revisit the chunk. I've seen single ones before, you can hit them and they will fly off as per deflecting a normal Ghast fireball.
MC Day 14334: So I’ve started work on my Nether base. It will be a fortress/castle type design, with 3 straight sides and towers in the corner, plus the front which will be curved and have a larger tower in the middle. I already found a large lava lake near one of my existing minecart lines, so I’ve worked out the shape and got stuck in. At the moment i’m mapping out the profile, dropping gravel to clear the lava then mining out the middle and back filling with Netherrack, with a top layer of stone (the towers are marked with stone bricks). A bit laborious, like draining an ocean monument, but lava is much less forgiving! A problem I encountered early on was dropping gravel onto soulsand causes it to break, and I’ve had a couple of instances where I’ve hit soulsand deep in the lake. I’ve had to remove it by getting below it and mining it out block by block, filling in with Netherrack before the lava comes through, but apart from a few burns in lava flows, I’ve not needed to use an Fire Resistance potions yet. Just have to be careful mining out the gravel as I can end up 9 blocks down (9 blocks is the max drop I’ve had so far), and taking out the wrong block could bring lava down on me.
Get a few Ghasts spawn, but they tend to spawn high up and don’t seem to see me that easily when directly above, so they are easy to pick off. But I’ve had a few spawn on the build area at the other end from which I’m working and that can be a bit hairy!

Proposed layout (I did it in AutoCAD)
Once the profiles complete, I can think about draining the middle section ….
MC Day 15106: Work progressing slowly on my Nether Castle. The outer walls are essentially complete, whilst the NE and SE towers are done. The original design had 5 towers; two in the corners mentioned, one in the NW and SW corners (incomplete, and which weren’t really corners as the west wall curved outwards from them) and the biggest one in the middle of the west wall (which is the front) – this is the tower that will be enlarged at the top to fit a Ghast face in all 4 sides. I’ve now added a 6th tower between the SW & NW ones with walkways either side. Added some staircases internally to reach the sub-floors and ascend the towers to the top. Still plenty to do. Ghast count is now 2316 😊
I took some screenshots with a Night Vision potion as its difficult to see the castle in the Nether. Hence the lurid orange glow of hell!
Working on & off on my Nether Castle and its Overworld Outpost. Mainly I have done the ground floor of the Outpost (Storage) and recently added the mob pens (6) in the first underground level, with individual surface loader bays – basically a piston controlled false floor to which I lure the mobs in question then press a button where they drop into a water stream that drops them into the pen – a design I’ve used a few times.
Went for dark prismarine and white concrete.
The 6 pens – more concrete.
From outside, one of the mob loaders for the pens can just be seen beyond the trees – just growing trees temporarily here to get plenty of wood …
Because I intend to have a Mob XP Farm under the base, I started to go underground lighting up the caves and ravines etc in the surrounding area, and get some minerals at the same time. Turned out to be one of the horriblest areas I’ve had to work on; multiple mineshafts, caves and ravines, often intersecting. I’m not content to just simply light all areas, I like to neaten them up and make the terrain easier to navigate, probably I’m a bit OCD when it comes to this aspect, and some of these areas were really broken up. I must have found 20+ minecarts and chests which was a bonus, picked up some goodies from them. Plus loads of wood planks from mineshaft floors the game uses over non-solid areas (when I encounter this I usually replace with stone). One ravine had a mineshaft bridging across in three diff areas, and one of those bridges had a cave spider spawner on it, covered in a lava flow.
Ravine with mineshafts across, bottom one just out of shot has the spawner.
Another ravine. I sorted out 5 in total, but I know of at least another one still to do.
Mineshafts upon mineshafts, pretty messy.
Before and after shot of part of one of the ravines I tided up …
Even the cave spawners weren’t safe from the mineshafts …
… and right below was a second cave spawner, albeit having a rather truncated perimeter …

MC Day 16487 (PC SP Win 10 Java Ver 1.13.2)
