On my first survival world, I had spawned on a semi big island. I just started so I thought everything was super dangerous and I should be extra careful. So I got cobble and iron and all the beginning crap, and I started my first house, in the side of a mountain. I build it to look cool with a huge tower extending up to look for creepers and a bunch of trapdoors over the ground in front of my house that I opened every night to protect against zombies. I had spent my precious iron to make a iron door to enter my base. Then I dug really low under the earth to make my living quarters and put like three trapdoors over the entrance. Then I put anther two iron doors. Then I made a panic room with ANOTHER iron door and a trap door over a deep hole in the ground which I would hop into if mobs penetrated my base. Super unnecessarily safe, right? WRONG! I was adding a new area to my house, and I was interrupted in real life so I left it unfinished. When I came back mobs swarmed my underground cellar. I killed them and left, but they came back. I scouted the whole house to see what was wrong but everything was normal. For a week I went crazy, aghast (Now tat I play Minecraft, that word has whole new meaning.) at how this would happen. Only then did I realize monsters spawn in the dark... and my renovated area had NO torches. Ahh, good ol' newby days...
My biggest mistake was playing with my cousin in my best survival because we had not enough items so he cheated TNT and blew up my entire base and he blew me too
This is quite embarassing, but I didn't survive my first day to even see my first night full of monsters :/ I hit a wolf, not knowing what it was, and his buddies killed me -.-
i don't know which version of minecraft i played in that time but the 3rd or more time i was killed by the "Human" mob which is removed now. I don't really remember which version that was but it might beta or aplha versions. >3>
Definently would be going to the nether the day after I bought the game. I used to have alot of lag so the render distance was on tiny, I thought there was ground below where I jumped, but instead ended up taking a swim in some red water.

This isn't the noobiest mistake, but once my friend dropped his fairly heavily enchant renamed diamond sword whilst fighting a creeper. He had me spawn that sword back in
1. Thinking Iron Golems and Wolfs weren't harmful in peaceful
2. Fireplace in wooden house
3. Thinking gold tools were great
4. Accidentally making way more fences than I need
5. Pouring lava into my farm instead of water
6. Thought Iron Golems were made the same way as Snow Golems
7. Diamond Golem and Gold Golem
8. I didn't hold click to mine, I pressed click repeatedly
9. Attempting to jump from a Nether Fortress to ride a Ghast
10. Didn't know dispensers lighted TNT as of 1.5.1
Thats all for now

I really gotta make a Youtube one of these days...
1.Spending 2 minuets trying too break bedrock.
2.Breaking a zombie spawner to move it to my mob trap and it only spawned pigs. (Before 1.4.2 when spawners dropped.
3.Thinking I was in peaceful mode I got attacked by Kamakazie cave spiders in an abandoned mine.
My first time playing Minecraft was at my friends house during the beta. He had a bunch of diamond gear and other valuables, and let me take over for a bit. I didn't notice the pool of lava until it was too late. Lets just say he wasn't very happy.
First started playing the game and was on the hunt to find all of the resoucres. I never really looked at the wiki to much except for basic recipes. I was on my last quest for diamonds; but I did not know what the diamonds looked like. I wound finding bedrock. I used a pick axe for a good while; I even made a gold picaxe thinking gold was stronger than iron. My memory doesnt go back that far but Im pretty sure I didnt find out till days later what diamond blocks really looked like.

Probably missing a jump from 200 blocks high into a 'lake'. Somehow. My two friends went first and made it, so I thought, why the heck not? How could I miss about 30 blocks of water directly below me?
Is it accidentally? xD Or you wanted to challenge the zombie ? xD
