I went to the Nether to get some more soul sand for my one-way monster traps, and I accidentally hit a pig person while mining the sand. They all swarmed after me and chased me to the edge of a cliff. Luckily I had some cobblestone on me, and I made a thin bridge out over a sea of lava, then deleted the bridge. Most of the pig people swarmed over the cliff and fell into lava, but a few smart ones stayed behind grunting and staring at me. I ate some pork, crafted a new set of iron armor, and took out my bow to kill the pig people. They got mad all over again, and all jumped after me over the cliff. One of them managed to score a hit on me while jumping off the cliff, and I FALL IN LAVA. LOSE EVERYTHING.

Lava is my enemy...

mine was terriable i just found a secret dungeon it had two chest with 2 saddles a piece of diamond, tnt, like 8 iron,and porkchops but i also had a 2 diamond pickaxes one mostly dead from mining over 200 iron, 2 pieces of dimond, 32 railroadtracks, 14 obsidean and 6 and a half piles of redstone i just got to make a nether portal and i was going to just mine my way out of the dungeon and i was mining very careless so i hit the block under me and fell into a cavern of lava i was so pised i stoped playing mine craft for a couple of weeks
`tip you can find a ton of restone deep under islands usually neer lava that are in the middle of no wherei almost have 1000 again

One of my first worlds I started on a small peninsula, with a smaller connection to the mainland. No islands in sight...

I built a small house and a mine, but wanted to expand, so I started walking to the mainland. I saw a sliver of surface lava... MC crashed.

Reload game, standing near lava pool, spiders/skelly's/zombies/creeper have all spawned near me. Hit by arrow, hit by spider, blown to bits by creeper. Respawn. Walk towards corpse with wooden sword, kill skelly, in sight of lava, MC crashed.

Reload game, Same spot as last time, same monsters, no inventory. Walk 5 steps, MC crashed.

To make a frustratingly long story short, I couldn't get within sight of the lava without MC crashing, and I didn't want to have to build a landmass/bridge/highway/tunnel/whatever just to get to the mainland, so I deleted the world.

If I posted for everytime I died in lava, and everything I lost each time, this thread would have millions(perhaps literally) of words in it. Some of my worst: Find a cave system, get almost a whole stack of iron, several coal stacks, some redstone, and the first diamond I had ever found in minecraft. Stepped over a hole, fell into lava.
Time two: Incinerating left over dirt. Chicken pushes me into lava. World gets deleted.
Time three: Have all diamond tools, plus multiple iron backups, iron armor. I see some surface lava, walk over, game lags, and I fall into lava, and couldn't get the bucket in time. World gets deleted.
Time four: Trying to get lava for a lava moat around my house. Get some lava from pool, turn around, accidently hit "s" instead of "w", manage to get the water bucket, but it was actually empty. World gets deleted.
Me and lava don't get along.

that why you do not dig down plus hold shift when you near lava

Find a huge cave. Dig up 32 diamonds, three and a half stacks of coal, a stack of iron, and a couple stacks of redstone. As I am walking back to my chest I placed in the mine, I almost fall in lava. Once I dumped everything out, I turn around and fall into the lava that I just missed a bit ago. I lost my torches.

i hate this game 2 hours real time in a gigantic cave 2 and a half stacks of iron 3 stacks of coal some lapis some redstone a bunch of torches iron pickaxes everything even a bucket of water i hear a spider while im digging out some coal i jump out of the little hole go into my inventory for some reason i forgot and while my inventory is open a spider jumps down infront of me i had no time to react it jumps at me and pushes me into lava i die i pause the game and cry for a minute then i come here and comment now im going to save my game and invedit some of my stuff back

You know how they say not to dig straight down? Well I dug down in a staircase fashion, and then decided to mine foreward for a bit. after about 10-11 blocks, I mined out some stone and LAVA FLOODED IN EVERYWHERE.
I paniced and died. Luckily though I remembered where it was and got 1/4th of my stuff back.

Amd does getting blow into lava by a creeper, only to live through the burning and get blown into the lava by another creeper thus killing you and your 8 diamonds count?

Teleport to friend in multiplayer who just happens to be right next to a lava pool.
Push him and myself in by teleporting.

2 weeks into minecraft, thought I had this mining thing wired. Found this awsome cave (Peaceful Mode) (dimond layer) and wow'ed all all the minerals on the walls and ceiling. Never looked down to see that 1 x 1 hole in the dark floor that had lava 2 blocks down. No other lava visable ..HA!

Fall in lava..... Lost everything = alot of minerals -16 diamonds, 2 stacks of iron, 1/2 stack gold, untold amounts of redstone>coal>flint.

Now on I watch where the hell Im going :tongue.gif:

lol. if you played on hard youd know to look where youre going. trust me. i would know.

I found my first three diamonds,so I crafted a pick axe. Then, I mined obsidian so I can build a portal to the Nether. Then right after I mined a obsidian block I saw lava, I tried getting the block of obsidian before the lava flows and destroy the obsidian. I died,but some of my items were scatted and landed on nearby rocks, and my diamond pick was saved. :biggrin.gif: I lost 2 uncooked pork chops,around six iron ores, and a 1/2 used iron pick axe,no big deal.

--10 mins later in the Nether--
I made a tunnel in the Netherack and THEN:

I lost my diamond pick axe,iron tools, some torches, several iron ingots,and some dirt.

Dodgey wireless keyboard + crouching over a lava pool = DEATH

New world. Just found some diamond on the other side of a lava pool, deep inside a cave. I checked around to make sure the area was secured and then built a 2 block wide bridge to the diamond. Started mining.
Zombie jumps down from an unseen entrance overhead and falcon punches me.

FALL IN LAVA. LOSE EVERYTHING.

i was playing on a server and the currency was slime balls and they were hard to get! i had a full stack of slime balls and a few gold about 30 iron or so and 4 diamonds. i was mining and then lag was going crazy. the screen showed me looking at the wall so i continued to mine but because of the lag i was actually looking down. scince i kept mining i mined into lava and I LOST EVERYTHING!

I dug straight down, made it to bedrock then started going back up my jumping and placing a block under me. Noticed i has missed some iron in the wall, hit the iron and out poured lava on top of me and killed me. Not really falling but hey...
