Doing some decorating around the house, using lava behind glass as a light source. Go back to chest to take out some more stone, had bucket of lava selected, lava bucket empties on floor. LAVA FLOWS INTO ME. LOSE EVERYTHING.
I have NEVER fallen in Lava. I'm way too careful for that.
Okay, except this one time ;P. I was in the Nether, and didn't hear any monsters about. I realized that I had forgot to turn off peaceful mode after my girlfriend had 'given mine craft a try' for 8 hours earlier (hook line and sinker!).
So I though, eh, I'll explore a bit. Nether isn't really that useful except as portal tech. So I see some soul sand and have to make improvised bridge over to it to mine it. Sure why not? I've never used it before!
So.. I place the first block to make the bridge right next to the bit of I was standing on...
The was apparantly free floating of doom, and collapsed beneath me, I landed in a lava pool the size of Lake Superior. I ate my large supply of food as fast as I could, but still couldn't make it to the edge before I died. Like, literally 2 mushroom stews and 3 cooked porks.
Finally found some diamond to build my diamond pick, to build my first portal to travel to the nether.
Was playing with lava, putting it in buckets and whatnot, to make some obsidian, And backed up into the lava. Fell in lava, lost everything
Just never dig down, you'll never know wuts under you. Maybe a creeper spawned there, maybe there's lava, maybe there's your mom, maybe there's your aunt.
Also, once when Iwas trying to get up out of a cave, There was gold in this hole. It was to far down, and when I tried to block off the source block to get to the gold, it went over the stone and fell on me.
I once fell into lava and lost everything. EPIC story.

There's only one way to find out. We must tie him up and throw him in the lake. If he lives, he is a whitch. If he dies, he is human. MY LOGIC BEATS YOURS.
Was building a mob trap. Had all the water placed and the currents delivering everything where I wanted it, and was placing the lava in the grinder. Had four of five source blocks placed, phone rings. I'm totally into building the trap, so I jump half a foot when the phone goes off.
FALL IN LAVA. LOSE EVERYTHING. Steel pick, copious redstone, at least two stacks of coal and a stack of freshly cooked glass.
Was wandering about in a cave and planning on grabbing some obsidian on the way back to base. For some silly reason I dug down, watching TV while I waited for the block to break, turned back to the game just in time to watch myself burn to death. Lost a diamond sword and pick, as well as about 30 blocks of iron ore and several hundred torches. Of course I had no idea where I died and couldn't find my stuff.
I was exploring underground on a mining mission for iron(about two stacks collected) and i was in a boat because there was this underground lake. turns out the lake ended into an open room with a hole in the center that went down into fog. Lets just say i hit the ground and burned after dropping down.
I FELL IN LAVA AND LOST EVERYTHING, FYI

Mod edit: And also inappropriate for this forum.
Well, what else are you supposed to do on the first night? =D
Doing some fixes for my mob lava grinder thing, using a diamond pickaxe, when I miss the cloberstone, and and hit a sign that was holding the lava in place, lava fall over me, the water down there turns in cloberstone and i get trapped.
Was just back from some coal mining because I've lost all my coal in the Beta update, that dissapeared with all the coal in the furnaces. Lost 4 stacks of coal, my diamond pickaxe, some iron, a crapload of torches that I had just made.
And there was that other time when I lost all the diamond equip I had (pickaxe, sword, shovel, armor).
I dug down to get some free gold...yeah.. yay.. gold....fell into a very deep very, dark cavern, first *shoop shoop shoop* clearly the skeletons where annoyed with me then *sssssssssss*...oh good. At this point I am hoping around in a panic getting closer to a light source (assumed to be a torch I left and thus a way home), me and my two hearts in no light. I get up to the corner to jump up and LAVA-NINJA-THROUGH-CORNER-TRICK...death. Not remembering what branch of my cave system lead there --> lost everything

MINECRAFT IS IN BETA...WE ARE BETA-TESTING. it's platforming...not parkour <<
So I was mining y'know. Not down or anything, but when I mine to the side, Lava out of nowhere pops out. I try to put cobblestone but realize got rid of them. I try to run, but the lava was everywhere. No /home, no /spawn. Nowhere to go. I also heard a :Zombie:, and knew it was the end for poor Lance.

Eh, I didn't want to. But it just didn't have the same impact otherwise.

FALL IN LAVA. LOSE EVERYTHING. Steel pick, copious redstone, at least two stacks of coal and a stack of freshly cooked glass.
Back on my first file, I didn't know the best way to get obsidian, so I was I made a pool of water and was using buckets to drag the lava to it.
FALL IN LAVA. LOSE EVERYTHING.
TWICE.
At least. Shut up, I was young and inexperienced.
