In this thread, we tell our stories that end with, well, falling in lava and losing everything.
Went to Nether. Playing on peaceful because I just want to gather some lightstone. Have over 100 LS dust collected, but decide to venture on. Might use my two buckets to grab some lava. See some lightstone off a ways. Scoot forward to build improvised bridge.
So I was deep in a cave when I saw this hole in the floor that had lava at the bottom. I got excited because this was a new world and I did not have any diamonds yet. So I was using shift and I find that everytime I use shift I get worried I might fall and then I start moving and it freaks me out so this happened at the edge of said hole and then I accidentally let go of of the shift key and fell in and took a lava bath.
Friend who is totally into minecraft was mining a cave he found.
I was complaining because we where not getting any aboveground exploring done, because we where not well stocked, because he was not making a trip back to drop off his stuff in-case something bad happened, because he was not at full health.
So meh, I'll be the one to get food and supplies.
Of course in his diamond lust he digs a diamond right underneath him. Poof, Lava, 30 iron 7 diamond gone.
He complained and wanted me to edit the items back in. I don't even like teleporting people to me when they die, they just shouldn't die!
Anyway this game is just about time management, very rarely do you LOSE anything. The Highest reward in the game, diamond, also has the highest risk.
Also it teaches people not to carry ridiculous amounts of stuff on their person.
FALL IN LAVA. LOSE EVERYTHING. Y U NO CARRY BUCKET?
I found a block of three Diamond ores, dug a dirt block out from overhead so I could put a torch in, lava fell on everything, including me, I died, and found the branch, filled in the whole and dug out the diamonds, which allowed more lava to flow in, and consume my life again, which allowed the diamonds to be ate by the lava.

My Grandmother passed away on Sunday, the 7th of August, 2011. I am taking an extended leave of absence in light of this. My apologies.
Been mining for about 2 hours.I have ~8 diamonds, almost 2 full stacks of redstone, 64 iron ore, 17 gold ore, some iron picks, one diamond pick, and I go against my better judgment and decide to increase the height of a room I'm in before putting it all away.I'm walking along removing a 1 block layer of stone from the ceiling (looking straight up) and fall into a 1x1 lava pool left open for future use.My reaction time is terrible and I die in the middle of my second jump after turning the difficulty to peaceful (hoping to avoid the afterburn).
Just last night, started out branch mining as usual and came across quite a large cave network full of lava. I proceeded to go about pouring my water over the lava to make a nice safe obsidian highway to explore.
Spent the next couple hours mining the **** out of the bottom levels of the cave system, had rounded up stacks of coal and redstone, dozens of iron ores and a decent little bit of gold, along with half a dozen diamonds.
Finally I was heading back out to go drop off my load when I bumped my hand over the damn cat pad on the laptop, causing my dude to dig himself a grave right on the edge of one of the previously glassed over lava pools... Gone was all my loot, along with my diamond pick.
One of the few times that actually made me rage quit, lol.

Steam? The only steam I see is emanating from that pile of crap slapped onto so many good games nowadays.
If your penis looks anything like a creeper I suggest you go see a doctor about it, something's definitely wrong!
I was playing a creeper mountain map, decided to get greedy and get the cacti
FALL IN LAVA. LOSE EVERYTHING.

1. In WoW, the max level is 85.
2. He never wanted the game to be like WoW, he wanted us to help us build structures from the game.
3. Conversations are never like that in WoW.
At least show SOME intellect when posting.
This is most likey the stupidest death I've done.
I was working on my secret entrence to my castle and I needed to get to the other side of the wall of lava. Thinking I would just escape with only some burns, I completely forgot that I made it so people can't go through the other side. Two seconds later...

I fail because I spelled my minecraft name wrong. Ah well...
Filling buckets with lava to mine obsidian farming ( later found better method ), kept creeping out to get lava. Placed some dirt for a few seconds, and then shoveled them out of the way to hinder lava flow from sourceless lava. Doing good and all, got nearly two floors worth of obsidian in a cave system nearby. Placed latest batch of dirt to stop lava flow. Hadn't noticed that said dirt blocks were near a lava source that I hadn't picked up yet. Shoveled dirt, lava flow hits foot, impending roast. ... Not really fall in lava, but just as bad.
I went to my mine, found a new cave sistem, there where lava, found diamond over the lava, mine it, from some dark place a zombie come and launch me to lava (that zombie was a troll)
I was walking 2 block near lava.
I looked before that around and there was nothing. No creeper, no zombie, not skeleton, not spider.... no anything that could bring me in danger.
I make 3 steps at most and... guess what. I get hit by and arrow and land in Lava. Since I had 4 hearts, there was no way to save my self.
Lost 9 diamonds, 1 diamond pickax, 1 diamond sword, over 3 stacks of coal, around 1 stack of iron...
Yup, I'm just lucky that I made a backup 2 minutes before that happened.
Well. i was in a cave that had lava. I had like 8 diamonds and a diamond pic axe and shovel. saw MORE diamond and envy flooded me, was possibly under the influence, and dug down. The rest is history.

Thank god, you have NO idea how hard it is to find 89.00 Flomax
Cave exploring with lotsa iron and 4 diamonds (and a diamond sword.)
See a coal vein, hesitate, because I'm at lava level and had a couple of narrow scrapes with it, but dig it anyway, because a chest full of coal is never enough coal.
See lava spilling out from behind the hole left by the mined coal. Lag. LAVA FALLS ON ME. LOSE EVERYTHING.
