The maxEntityCramming gamerule was implemented to prevent runaway mob farms from crashing servers. It really should default to off on single player worlds. Turning it off by setting the value to zero is the easiest/best way to deal with it (/gamerule maxEntityCramming 0).
However, you can circumvent the rule by modifying your mob collection area. I believe the trick is to place ladders or vines in the collection area. You could also just enlarge the collection area (the rule is invoked when more than 24 mobs/entities collect on 1 block, so a larger area allows more mobs).
Another option is to actually use the rule in your mob farm. By placing 24 regular minecarts + 1 hopper minecart in the collection area you invoke the rule as soon as any mob enters (minecarts are entities). They will die very quickly and their drops are collected by the hopper minecart, which in turn can be collected by a hopper underneath.
If your mob farm is an XP grinder then the minecart idea won't work. Unless it's a pigman/gold farm, in which case it works great! The rule can be used to make an awesome gold+XP farm (agro a pigman and have them path into the minecart grinder).
Hy , i was wondering if there is any possible way to avoid the "Maxentitycraming" thingy in minecraft without using cheats/gamerulles ?
I have this amazing mob farm but it sucks with the entity craming thing
Thank you !
The only other way would be to use a mod. But gamerules is the easiest way.
