I started playing shortly after 1.5.1 came out in early 2013, and while I have not been playing for quite as long as some others I'm still one of the first 15% or so of players (in June 2013, a few months after I started playing, there were 22 million copies sold, compared to the most recent figure of 144 million).
I was like, 7, and my brother pirated the game for me, the 1.4 version. He didn't tell me anything though, he just told me I've got Minecraft now so when I tried to join a server and it didn't work I cried and never played it again. Then a few years later, I think 2 years later when I was 9, 1.7 got released and that's when I got the proper game. I didn't play it very seriously, and I got bored of it really quickly. I've owned the game for like 4 years and only started playing it properly (Vanilla MC Survival, No Cheating) in 2017. Granted, I did play survival back then, but I usually quit before I even found iron because I was trash at the game. Now I defeat the Ender Dragon on my first IRL day of my worlds, lol.

I bought my copy of Minecraft on 3rd April 2011 according to Mojang's website, however that was after contemplating getting the game for a few months after watching my bestfriend put so many hours into it. I was obsessed with FPS shooters at the time and had never really played any games on PC, other than your basic online Flash games lol
January 2015! Has been great getting into Minecraft, it's a game i really don't think ill ever stop playing for some time.
Imagine still running your world after like three decades, you'd have to store the file on an external SSD at that point, transferring it from computer to computer as you upgrade.

I joined Minecraft in June of 2010, one of my first worlds was permanently winter and was making an igloo and found out that first night with a bang what creepers were... I remember multiplayer was invite only at first and someone shared on irc the invite password was Thomas or something like that. Also I hosted a public survival server after the Halloween update and hacking and cheating was rampant (who remember click glitch duping?) in alpha (who remember that awful cheat tool named mccheat?, built on top of a earlier alpha client tool named persister to save your inventory when you log out). beta 1.0 finally added server sided inventory. Minecraft came quite a long way over the years, many many worlds was made and enjoyed and lost over the years, same with joining many servers and making new friends then having servers shut down and making my own server a few times....
I first played minecraft on the website in June 2009. I really got interested in the game August/September 2010 when I learned about survival mode.
I've been playing constantly since.
Ju ... June 2009? That's a lot! Generally I am surprised with these users, since they are very rare. I do not know if I'm weird (I'm from the end of Alpha, Beta beginnings). Goodbye.
I started playing around when 1.6.4 came out (I think), in August of 2013. I played almost exclusively in Creative until around December 2015, when I joined a certain survival server. Since then, Survival's been my main mode.
So, in short, 2013.

I post pretty rarely nowadays. Gosh, I wish this place weren't so... empty...
Early-mid 2012 when 1.2.5 was fresh is when I got it, and my first world is still the one I play to this day. My actual first experience was of the demo version of beta 1.3 or 1.5.

During my university studies, I was engaged in a project for a course in signal processing when I saw some guys playing this strange game and listening to chip tunes in the project room. This was the days of early alpha. What fun could it be just digging gray blocks I thought, but eventually I tried my hand at the game and have played it since then, with pauses here and there.
I started on 2010 almost to 2011 and i have seen the game change a lot of ways,i liked some of them,i hated some of them but i must say i am satisfied on what the game has became,if there is something i miss is the old terrain gen(It was more varied).
I was impressed a lot when ocelots were implemented and also built a snow castle with a snow golem army.
Also i have played on a lot of server,i have seen them rise and fall and making new friends, nothing feels more heartwarming than the time we knew the server was going to fall because lack of donations so we all decided to make a big party on the spawn and do silly stuff while also beating all the bosses that were available.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?
I joined in 1.7 version, so I joined in 2014.
I support Phantom Additions:

Allow me to blow your mind a little bit more.
When I started, Redstone didn't even have a name.
Cast aside your festive doylaks: dragon stuff is about to happen.
Multiplayer is lonely once you understand how it actually works.
