I have been playing minecraft for about two years and I am trying to get my wife to play with me. She has never really played a true computer game before. Any suggestions on how to introduce her to the game? I was thinking about having her create her own survival world and I joining her in it. Any goals I should have in mind to make it interesting for her? Has anyone had any similar experiences? Thanks!

Yeah definitely join her to help her get a grasp of whats going on, but let her do everything by herself! Maybe to start with let her create a world on peaceful and teach her the basics of gathering materials, crafting, smelting, farming, etc. then let her get a decent house started before bumping her up to easy. Luckily my wife games so all she did was watch me play and started her own world on peaceful after a while .

Thats a good idea. I wasn't sure what difficulty to start her on. I was debating easy/normal so that hunger has an affect but she won't like getting attacked by mobs. But the mobs do give a reason as to why you need a shelter. I think I might try your way.
