Does the white dot on the explorer map always show the player who is looking at the map?
I ask because my daughter, my wife, and I play survival on a WiFi server, and yesterday my daughter was looking at an ocean explorer map which showed two white dots - one was my daughter, because the dot moved as she moved, and the other must've been my wife, because she was a considerable distance east of my daughter whereas I was a considerable distance west of my daughter, and the second white dot was east of my daughter. This is very strange, because my wife wasn't even logged in at the time.
Another woodland explorer map we bought directed us to go west. So, while playing by myself, I went west about 10K blocks and the dot hadn't even budged.
So, was that because I had a lot more to go, or because the dot was showing my wife's or my daughter's position, even though they weren't even logged in?
Thanks for reading, and hoping to get some helpful advice
if you have a map in an item frame it will sometimes show that on the explorer maps, other players do show up on them as well, as far as your wife not being logged on the map could have stored her last position and just not updated, try getting your daughter to log out and back in.
the places on the map can be MILES from where you are, on my server the last one we went to was 10k blocks away. the dot will only change once you are close
Hey, all!
I have a few questions about the explorer map:
