Honestly, a swamp. I would move to another biome quickly, of course. Swamps have trees, animals, mushrooms, sugar cane, vines, sand, clay, water and I often find cave openings in the ground.
Been ages since last played so don't know all the different biomes out there. However while jungle is ok, I think its too compacted for starter houses. Maybe later on once I make a compass and edit my world so the spawn is near my first house. Kind of cheating, however its only moving the spawn so my compass is always useful
But really just a normal biome with grass and trees is fine for me. A nice flat place to build what hopefully will end up a nice big house(s). With sand and water nearby. Ill use rail carts to get to other biomes later.
Okay,,,umm ignored the post 1 up of me. I prefer the Snowy biome!!! because u can get lots of trees and turn into dark planks, people think that they are ugly, but if u build a house, its soo cozy inside!
I prefer to spawn near a river, or on an island chain(or on a river near an ocean), rivers provide a great point of reference and usually connect several biomes.
i'd prefer to spawn in a river between a jungle biome and a desert biome, jungle for wood (i don't care what my house looks like) and desert for glass sand and sandstone, and the river because when desert meets river theres always usually sugar cane there, and also the jungle for grass and leaves and ocelots
Mine is a mix of plains and forest. Because a lot of easy wood in the forest and hopefully some sheep in the plains and also an easy building area in the plains
Taiga biome intersects with a Tundra biome(which is RARE but not as rare as mushroom biomes so basically 2nd rarest biome AND it has MOAR sheep and pigs than plains!) and intersects with a mushroom biome! and the whole continent looks more like Canada and Asia lolz
I prefer spawning in plains near a jungle or forest and with extreme hills on one side , extreme hills are so much fun and even more if there is a floating island around makes a great spot for a fortress

Never dig a hole 64x64x64 believe me it will try and take the fun out of minecraft , it's like the one ring. Before you find yourself you will have been taken by the hole.
