Hi. Me again. Just a quick question for the MC community. Was the infamous hopper based item duplication glitch fixed in 1.12.2? If not, how would Ì go about replicating this?
The bug has not been fixed as far as I know, but it's not something you can easily reproduce on demand. You'll just need to place a bunch of hoppers facing into each other with items in them bouncing back and forth and wait for it to happen. If you have a shulker box you can fill it with items, and if that duplicates, all the items inside will also duplicate.
Placing the hoppers across chunk borders is supposed to help (and don't have them in your spawn chunks).
Hoppers in the redstone clocks I use in some of my farms regularly duplicate items, which messes up the timing. I used to find the required monitoring and maintenance annoying, until I replaced the diorite blocks used for timing with shulker shells. Now when I find the extra items I'm happy.
