uhm, i have a world that i started a few months ago, where i live in a plains area, next to a desert and a desert village.
I have a really big mine that I work in below my home, (shaft mining or whatever its called), and down there, around layer 4-9, I have found about 7 emeralds. They have only come as one though, never a chunk of them, and that is the only world i have ever spotted emerald in
Did you really need to make a thread for this? Most people are going to say "in a cave" or "in my mine" and I think you could have figured that out yourself.

I first found my first emerald in 1.4.4 in an abandoned mineshaft in the extreme hills biome. It turned out to be like 5 emeralds total after I dug my way out again.
I found my first emerald when I was trading with a villager, never mined one. THREE signs for an EMERALD. Too bad I can't remember the seed. By the way, CreeperXassasin, did you honestly not know where they're found? Don't mean to be rude, LOL!
Mine When i was in a map. A pillar has emerals with it.

hi
Wow... Really legit...
Ever get tired of squids? Support dolphins in Minecraft!
They're really annoying, as they always look like diamond for a split second lol.
Oh and I really can't remember where or when I mined my first emerald. I don't have that kind of memory. xD
They aren't necessarily useless. You can get diamond armor and tools by trading them with villagers as well as some enchantments (forgot which).
But you'll get a lot more in a smaller amount of time by trading a bunch of wheat for them or something rather than by mining.
