Oh, if you want your skin, there's a neat little trick I apparently did before I found out I had to upload the skin to minecraft.net. Save your skin as a char.png and put in the textures folder under the proper place.

Ok, I might do that. My skin isn't special anyways, I've just been using the zombie pigman's texture as my skin, nothing special.
Oh nice
I had an idea awhile back about going to the earliest Alpha version, and setting goals for myself, every time i achieve one, i can upgrade to the next version.
Looks like fun, I'll get down to it sooner or later. :3

Actually, some guy is making challenges and I've agreed to attempt them whilst in the olden versions. Here's his link. Be sure to add challenges.
I still have my very first Minecarft world that was generated on Alpha 1.0.14_01. My house is made of dirt and glass. There are so many memorable and funny moments that happened in that world, but the funniest thing that happened was when I have an indoor reed farm.
It was night and the reeds were ready to be harvested. Then I saw this creeper outside looking at me through my door. Good thing the wooden pressure plate is inside my house and there is no way he can get in. I started to harvest my reeds and when I punched the reed near my door with the pressure plate, the reed item fell on the plate, opening the door, and let the creeper in. I panicked and jumped into my indoor well that was 5 blocks deep and stayed at the bottom until I started to drown. I need to stay in there until I figure a way out of this. I need to surface but the creeper is swimming on top of me. I don't want to die because I don't know where my spawn is. Almost dead, I stuck my head out of the water and the creeper started hissing. BOOM! Miraculously I had 1 heart left. half of my house got destroyed. Then another creeper got in my house and blew me up and my already ruined dirt house. I'm such a noob back then

Give a man a fire and he'll be warm for a day.
Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
I believe I also started playing minecraft when Alpha 1.2.4_01 came out but I'm not completely sure. Anyways I loved Alpha always so this thread is pretty entertaining for me to read.
I hope you stay tuned as I make attempts at building things and working with redstone.
Just when I thought I was safe, I see this near my home
I did not make nor come out of this portal. It's about 500 blocks or so away from my original portal. My guess is sheep cultists, but I can't be too sure. They've been following me around since Full Release and are trying to torment me. I shall smite every single sheep in my world, cleansing it of these wooly terrors that haunt me in the night more than any creeper
I pray to Notch I have the strength to beat back this foul terror.

You can share stories and pictures if you so wish.
I started pre-halloween update, and also still have my alpha world..somewhere. Enchanting changed minecraft forever, that's for sure. Also, have you figured out how incredibly useless armor is in alpha? I really prefer the new system.

There was a coding bug where you had full armor points when you wore the set.
I think that was on purpose, and the only difference was durability between the different materials.
I do remember that you could actually decrease the effectiveness of your armour by wearing a nearly broken piece, too.
I can tell you right now that's a myth. I've done accidental field testing and broken leather armor actually was effective as a defense against the creeper that crept up on me.

Care to share?
same here
It was mainly because I had no internet in my home for a while and figured it out due to that.
Okay.

If you like that, I have a story to tell,
of a single forest I fell
Being a noob and getting rid of floaty leaves
I set a light to some trees
However, one of them was too close and set the world ablaze
Now I'm think of how I've seen better days
My framerate died and my forest is gone
For many days, the burning logs remind me all day long
I ticked off the creatures and they wanted me dead
Hounding me by the numbers outside of my shed.
