It's been a little bit since I've done anything with the Nether, when did they update it so that mobs could travel through Nether Portals?
Anyway, I built a Nether Portal in my basement, and a Zombie Pigman walked through the portal and is now a new roommate of mine, at least for now. Do Zombie Pigmen despawn after you travel a certain distance away, or do they stick around?
I'm kinda enjoying my new buddy, and I don't want him to disappear....
I have a zombie pigman as a house guest but it means I can't sleep O_0
I get a message that is something like "you can't sleep now, there is an enemy in the house*
damn.
Ha ha I never thought of that! I hardly ever sleep, and I hardly ever have a pigman.
I want to devise a way to keep my pigman buddy around. When they're gone, is it really because they went back through or because they simply despawned?
Get a pumpkin, push an enderman into your house, then whack it with a stick,oh sorry no that's steps for killing people, anyway, you may have to wait awhile for him to come back, cuz mobs coming through the portals is fairly rare, also what are you going to do when a ghast spawns in your basement
I'm pretty sure that nether creatures are subject the despawning code. I think people get the impression that they don't despawn because they don't spend a lot of time in the Nether and when they come back critters are all loaded where they were when you left.

Actually, Ghast do not follow the code. The reason of this is because Ghast can see the player 100 blocks away and Hostile mobs instantly despawn if your 144 blocks away. So the Ghast Spawning Rule is that they do not despawn like passive mobs.
Whenever one comes out of my portal, I just dump sand on his head xD. I only would like pet babby slimes beacause they cant hurt you... But of corse, they despawn I lost Mr. Boogie.

I tried it with terrible results. I gave my wife my glasses for a second, a creeper showed up and now my wife is pregnant.
Stupid 3D..
"Hmm... no diamonds here. Maybe I should look underground?"
