So yeah as the title said, what do you guys eat the most ingame?
Mine is rotten flesh(it's easy to find and as long as you don't move while having the hunger debuff you should be fine)
I eat cake at home, why? Well duh, because it's cake! You've gotta let a bit of appetite build up before you eat a Minecraft cake though so they're not very good adventuring food which is why they should let us make cupcakes too but until then I travel with pumpkin pies! Those are almost as great and the ingredients are so fast and easy to grow it's like cheating!

"Sometimes, I just wanna give up, say 'I'm done with this mess' and go to bed. But you know what; you can't shrug off your responsibilities. You got to pull yourself up and meet the challenges head on. That's the only way you're gonna get ahead in life."
My avatar prefers melons (despite me being a leg man).
These are what I see as their advantage:
Each harvest produces an abundant number of slices so that you don't need big elaborate fields to stay sufficiently stocked.
Melon slices require no preparation beyond harvesting.
They replenish one hunger bubble per serving.
The more hunger-satisfying foods have their place. Indeed, my avatar keeps several of them in his inventory at all times. But for me the chief disadvantage of, say, beef, is that to be truly efficient you need to lose four hunger bubbles between meals. It seems a waste to eat a four-bubble meal when your bar is down by one to three bubbles. Yet while awaiting that four-bar drop you suffer a lengthly period where health does not generate.
With melons that issue vanishes. At most you suffer a waiting period of half a bubble sans health regen. That's insignificant in most situations.
But again, there are times when your hunger bar drops low despite your best efforts. In those cases beef and other "heavy" foods are spot on.

I like eating bread mostly because I like my little automated farm that I built. With the push of a button it turns into a spiffy waterfall! Not an efficient crop, but even so I have tons of surplus. I could support a small army with my wheat farms!
1.They're so easy to farm (no extra seeds, and no chances for a poison carrot, and they yield a good amount per crop)
2. They restore 4 hunger (2 chicken legs) and 8.8 saturation, which is good for the amount you get.
3. You don't have to wait for them to cook in any furnaces. You get the crops, replant and you're on your way.

Just my option.
It's easy enough to farm and who doesn't love oven-roasted chicken? (Besides vegans and vegetarians, of course...)
The source of my intention isn't really crime prevention; my intention is prevention of the lie! Yeah, welcome to the Scatman's world!
