In Minecraft 1.8.2 Mojang implented a new chunck generation witch removed the far lands. The far lands are the farthest point that you could get in the game. My question is should mojang re add the far lands to Minecraft?
They shouldn't add them back, if one accidentally teleports to the farlands extreme lag will cause them to crash probably, plus its not even usefull, no one should use up all the blocks to need to go that far.
I wouldn't mind the Far Lands returning, but not as a laggy, end-of-the-map type of a terrain. I'd like to see it as a biome, or as a very rare bizarre island in the middle of a vast ocean.
It would basically encourage people to waste their live to get to the farlands. (If any other fans of kurtjmac see this that does not include him because his video series profit was going to the children's play charity and also he was at least talking about stuff besides minecraft during it. So I totally supported him doing that.)
Not really. The world is infinite so the only location would be in the middle of an "endless" ocean biome.
Plus it would lag like crazy.
Actually, a Minecraft world is approximately 8 times bigger then the Earth.
OT: I think it would be cool to have them again, despite the lag. I mean, if you think that it'll crash you, then why even try to go there? If your computer can handle it, have fun.
I'm not completely sure about this but I think that its probably easier for the game to just load nothing instead of the farlands.
I don't think that they will add them again anytime soon, tho.
I say they should. Kurt(from far lands or bust) should nolonger worry about accedentaly pressing update mincraft button. Plus his series would be more fun with jungels and mushroom biomes and the ocassonal desert temple

How do I save a signature? Never mind, I found out how.
I don't think they should be readded as they were, but as their own unique biome that's even more rare than Mushroom Islands. It should just be extremely wacky and not lag-inducing, if possible. And it should be forced to generate far from spawn. I mean, if they can set the radius for how far away from spawn a stronghold can generate, why couldn't they do that with a biome? (Please excuse my ignorance if I'm completely incorrect on whether or not the programmers can control where biomes generate.)
I think a Far Lands biome would be interesting and be another treat for people to discover rarely.

I like this idea. Far Lands with no lag but the same type of terrain generation.
If there was some underground generation like the Far Lands, I would like it added. But how they were before was just a rumor. Something that when you finally got to it, its like "Okay... Now what?"
Personally, I feel that adding the Far Lands back to Minecraft would have its drawbacks. From the perspective of someone like kurtjmac who documents every step of the way to the Far Lands, most (90-95%, if not more) of the journey would be sailing through an endless ocean biome. That would certainly bore many people to death, not to mention Kurt himself.
My take on this is that should Mojang wish to improve world generation and take it to its logical conclusion, the ultimate goal is to someday have worlds form as true globes, so that if you travel in one direction and encounter no unpassable obstruction(s) you will eventually return to your start point, as on earth. Far Lands don't fit in that equation.
Minecraft [Alpha] 1.7.3 had blocks that you can use to build with.
Minecraft now has blocks that you can use to build with.
Nothing has changed in my opinion." That is all.

Stay Genuine. Stay Fearless.
