You can either collect materials, craft them or smelt them and try building a city or a kingdom and add some special stuff in it or you can also play other adventure, parkour or other maps towards survival.
Does anyone have any suggestions on stuff to do or build or work towards in survival? I will do the best idea
I actually have a sort of system when I play survival where I actually created an achievements list before I started playing my world. These achievements can range from simple achievements like 'craft magma cream, cookies, etc.' to more advanced ones, such as huge building projects or something that's really difficult to do in a typical survival situation (such as shooting down a bat with a bow, getting a tool with 4 enchantments using an anvil, etc.) When you set goals, you have something to work towards, so it's hard to get bored when you're simply playing survival. It's like completing all the achievements on the list is a long-term goal you can set for yourself to keep yourself occupied.
Generally, if your goals get accomplished too quickly, set some ridiculously time-consuming goals. What I enjoy doing is searching for YouTube videos on how to create some huge mansion or historical building, watch it, then do my own interpretation of it using the methods used.
Another idea is to find places of interest, basically playing different save files in a single game. For example, wander around until you find a beautiful location. Link to it using rails, and drop off everything at your old house and start new. This way you get to keep all your hard work, but get a brand new area to experiment with!
Or you could just do what I did and make a Nether-based area in the overworld, or an overworld-based area in the Nether, hehe. That's just a few suggestions. Build some PixArt with wool (I built a 32x32x32 wool Ghast right outside my Ghast spawner area (I used a mod to add Nether dungeons, so it's not exactly a legit mob farm, hehe). You could find a village and take care of it/expand it, or just do whatever you think you'd enjoy!
Roam the world looking for villages. Once you find them secure them and build them up to the point where they can generate a golem. Additionally once secured, find a nearby cave and mine it looking for 9 blocks of lapis so that you can plant a flag in the middle of the village to say that you cleared it.
Then move on to the next village and repeat.
I was having fun with it until my world got messed up and I can't play it anymore.
What I started doing when I got bored was to start building the Sky Tower - a massive tower that is really a giant staircase into the sky... Easy way to die though, so if you do this, build it by your respawn point...

My avatar-Madison Gotha. She knows various weapons, she's a mage/sage, and is somewhat immortal. Madison has the capability of taming and communicating monsters, a genetic trait passed down by her father. 26 physically, 1400-something mentally, and a Lofty Peakian/Zenithian mix. Doesn't really like being called an elf and hates being called human..
I might be Moderator, but don't bother treating me too special. And don't make tons of Ban Hammer jokes, please. Also, I'm an Off-Topic only Mod. Don't ask me to lock a thread or something if it's not in the off-topic
1. Build a time consuming base that will require great planning and time input, that should keep you busy for a while.
2. Downgrade! Try out some older versions of Minecraft, explore and see how the game has changed.
3. Set yourself goals, especially really hard ones!
4. Take a break, when you comeback everything will be fresh!
Ummm...what?
