When I heard that chest don't burn I hid my behind a wall of lava once. Hell I once have a lavafall and at the base of each fall I hid a chest. I had enough armor and weapons stored in them to equip an entire army. Of course my favorite way is to hid them in deep water. Just deep enough so that when you dive, you got enough air to go down, grab what you need and swim back up. Who would think to jump down a hole of water?
The problem with that though, is that out of all those furnaces, it's obvious at least one contains valuables. So if diamonds are involved, I would certainly check 100 furnaces haha.
The best way I have seen was a guy who hid a lever and when he pulled it, it reviled two more levers. One was to access the chest and the other dumped you into lava. He used a lot of pistons and redstone but no one ever got his stuff.
If you have access to a plugin that allows you to protect blocks in a certain area, I know of a redstone lock that has potentially millions of combinations. In this way, it would be impossible for one to break in unless they knew the combination.
It's probably one of the best ways to hide chests. Also, check out his channel, because in case someone breaks into your house, he has a ton of genius traps! He also makes a ton of cool stuff and videotapes his kittens :smile.gif:.
My way is to hide my valuables chest under a chest... Under another chest. Everyone hides chests under a decoy, but who would think of looking through two decoys on top of each other?
Well, the way i do it is when i make a mine, on one of the dirt patches i dig the entire thing up, but a chest at the furthest/deepest part, then make fill the enitre thing up...
Hide the most valuable things like diamonds or gold in furnaces. X-ray doesn't pick them up, nobody thinks to check them, and you can stick it in a wall.
You'd think nobody checks them, but I do.
I once robbed a stack of iron out of the furnaces in someone's foundry. Never underestimate griefers.
I put tons of decoy chests....besides most people look for the easier ones..oh you can alway put a sign saying TOTALLY A PATH TO A DECOY CHEST with obbys leading to it and there will be nothing there...fun to look at the whiners complain to the Admins...
1. Find a small, but easy to navigate through forest
2. Find a generic tree
3. Break some of the leaves with shears, and make a little hole in the dense leaves
4. Place chest
5. Cover back up with leaves obtained by shears.
6. Remember where the tree is.
everyone who has done an adventure map
THE LAWS OF ADVENTURE MAPS
1. You must always check behind water falls and in lakes.
2. There is always treasure under graves. Always.

This is almost definitely the best way.

(decoy chest)
(real chest)
A bit off topic but the best way to keep your valuables safe. It's impossible to steal unless someone hacks your account.

Never need to hide a chest ever again.
