Hey, guys, guess what, 10 hours of work... GONE, all [profanity="fuck"]ING GONE!
You know Tekkit?(Which I now need about 6 days to recover from)
Well, I was in SURVIVAL mode, and had created a factory that was making the following: Refined Iron, Iron, Tin, Copper, Bronze, Advanced alloy. Mixed metal Ingots, Carbon Plates, Coal dust, Raw carbon fibre, Raw carbon mesh, Buckets, Diamond pickaxes, Alchemical coal, Aeternalis fuel, Diamonds, Gold, Uranium, Iron spades, Gears (Wooden, stone, iron and gold, but not diamond yet) Advanced machine Blocks, Macerator, Machine blocks, Industrial Diamonds, and last of all Iron bands.
I was about to add in Diamond gears, when suddenly the Lag Spike of Death appeared and shut down Tekkit. But the problem is that I forgot to save. So, I lost it ALL. All I had left was the base of the factory.
Please, share your frustrations with the lag of Tekkit. I hope you have all suffered, as I have suffered.
In the new mc update it looks like there gonna be using some of tekkit ideas tho like i saw something called a command block and a beacon and those things sound like tekkit stuff maybe if minecraft is like tekkit this wouldnt happen because minecraft has auto-save(no idea if tekkit does)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
AMD E-450,Radeon 6320M,6gb ram, 500gb HDD with a 160gb SSD.Minecraft Runs on High at 30 FPS.
Within Tekkit is an option to set when the world auto-saves. He most likely had it off, at a very long amount of time, or he's not telling the truth. Just clearing some things up for you.
I don't think anyone has to worry about this, and Tekkit really doesn't lag that much if you can run Vanilla around 60 FPS on near-max settings. Just make sure that it auto-saves every half our or so and you'l be fine.

Just because you seem a little bit confused, Tekkit is simply Minecraft but with mods or add-ons, so things like auto-saves would function exactly the same in both, as long as the mod doesn't effect auto-saving. The Command blocks and Beacons have nothing to do with Tekkit, and are completely original ideas made by Mojang to make things like adventure maps more interesting. Beacons also work in survival, but use up a lot of resources.

Or maybe he should stop playing a stupid mod.
"One does not just loose all his data from lagspikes"
That's what I thought... Minecraft autosaves, and lagspikes that crash your game can't just "unsave" data.
Solution: cord.
I am ninja'd far too often.
This. Lag cannot unsave a game, plus it autosaves.
I think the OP's laptop overheated and shut off, corrupting the save.
