You need to get off these forums, you are freaking stupid. I'm trying to be calmer on the forums, but what the **** are you talking about.
Stealing is the act of taking an item whilst not giving credit to the original owner (that is with software, not with IRL items, lol).
Jeb gives proper credits to these users. Go finish the game. You'll see credits roll by and there you go!
God, some people don't deserve to have access to the internet, they're too dumb to even understand... anything.
because HE was the one that nerfed xp farms, not Jeb.
OT: he did the nerf so that you could gain xp by more "normal" means. it encourages exploring, and ends up making you use all those pathetically easy ways of gaining xp that Jeb made.
But there's no way for the software to tell the difference between a critter that drops from your sleazy little monster farm, and one you met on the fair field of battle. If anything, I think they should (and probably will) nerf XP from mining, Right now it's just silly.
There has to be some way, when using mcmmo mobs from spawners do not give mcmmo levels.
I also like the direction things are going. I dislike things being too easy, I like to work and work hard for the stuff I use. It makes it that much more satisfying knowing that I worked to get what I had.
Personally, I don't think that Jeb or any of the Minecraft developers are trying to force us to play one way, be it "their" way or not. My main reason for this is because they have been working on a modding API, which will make mods even more numerous and diverse than they are now. With the game in its current state, the community's mods create very diverse possibilities for playing the game. What I am saying about the API is that mod diversity will increase to practically infinity, based on how it has grown already, and anyone will be able to play the game in any way they like. Therefore, if the developers wanted to make us play the game a certain way, they would not add an API, and because they are adding one, they must want us to be able to play the game how we like.
Dude how about this:
Jeb is running out of ideas, so what does he do he is stealing mod ideas, proof:
*snip*
AND I THINK THERE WILL BE MORE TO BE CALLED STOLEN VERY SOON!!
OH NO! THE CREATORS ARE GETTING IDEAS FROM THE COMMUNITY! WHATEVER WILL WE DO!?
For those who can't stand the OP, remember that occasionally people are hating and liking features back and forth. I don't think it's unfair to point out about certain features of the game on how good or bad it is, and everyone can like and hate it simultaneously. There isn't a right or wrong in opinions, but steeping to much on one side has its disadvantages... (I remember used to remember a thread being opposed to death from one-sided manner and behavior, and a mod had pointed it out and locked the thread for that particular reason, not because he thinks the OP is "bad")
And yeah, some people have posted something similar to the above.
That brings us up the "too much xp" problem again in a different scope, sadly.
On-topic: I'm not really bothered about how "cheating" it is to make mob farms, unless it crashes an economy. In that case, just get mob drops off the market. For their indirect benefits, though, I digress. It's a nitpick for that.
As far as i'm concerned , "mob grinders" Are straight up cheating, i ban anyone who i see making them on my server
You get free items and EXP for not doing jack exept sitting there and swatting a sword
Let me catch you with a wheat farm, bone meal, or TNT, I'll give you the flame of your life. "Mob grinders" are straight up people being creative and using the game mechanics how they want to. It's not like exploiting a bug. The reason this game is called a sandbox is because people can use the tools given them however they want. The only way to "cheat" in Minecraft is to exploit bugs like the piston duplication glitch back in 1.7. - unintentional and severely overpowered. 9 diamonds -> infinite diamonds is a much bigger problem than XP farms.
TNT? Cheating. Free block destruction for crafting some sand? Pathetic. Bone meal? Cheating. Free plants without going and exploring forests until you drop dead? Ridiculous. Wheat farms? You're too lazy to cave until you find dungeons with wheat in them? Lame. See a pattern?
I understand rules, but telling people they can't do something that's perfectly possible and normal with the current game mechanics is ludicrous. It's not like they're using x-ray or a fly-mod. THAT'S cheating.
Why? The point of a mod is to customize the game. It is, was, and always will be intended to function in the game. If the developers decide they like it enough to put it in the game, there's really no difference - the community isn't allowed to make money off the mods, so they're really not losing anything, and if you really want the developers to spend more time crediting all 30,000,000-40,000,000 people in the MC community for their ideas and less on developing the game, that's your problem.

The irony of cheating that you've pointed out just made my day.

Edit:
The only reason that I said personally at the beginning of my first post was because my position on this issue is explained by the proof which constitutes most of the post. The reason I call the post a "proof" is because it arrives at a conclusion based on facts and reasonable predictions. The facts I reference are Mojang's development of an official modding API and the current expansive array of mod content. Additionally, I make the reasonable assumption that mod content will increase to practically infinity. Content cannot increase to infinity, of course, but it can increase to the point of enabling playing the game in all conceivable, significantly different ways. This increase in content is what I mean when I say that content will increase to "practically infinity". My assumption that the introduction of the official API will cause this increase is based off of the community's current love of modding and how the API will make modding easier. Based on these facts and reasonable predictions, I arrive at the conclusion that Mojang doesn't want to make people play any one way because they are facilitating the very modding which enables people to play in almost any way imaginable. Anyone could arrive at this same conclusion by applying logical reasoning to facts about Mojang, Minecraft, and the community. So there you have it. A definitive proof of how Mojang is not trying to make people play the game in any one way.
So, using mods from the community (which they're allowed to do) and making it so you have to ACTUALLY play the game to get XP levels to enchant your gear is a horrible thing to do?
I think the game is fine as it is. The only complaint I have is the latency in single player with the new client/server setup. Other then that it's fine. Plus I don't mind if they add things to the main game that are similar to what is in mods. I play vanilla and I'm totally fine with this.

Just as good.

this. i dont understand at all why anyone would be angry about Jeb thinking their mod is awesome enough to be in vanilla Minecraft.
No one is ever happy.
Nice try jackass, but this is a community driven game.
OH NO! THE CREATORS ARE GETTING IDEAS FROM THE COMMUNITY! WHATEVER WILL WE DO!?

Wait a minute, it contradicts Minecraft's sandbox nature?!
Well, it should probably get on their nerves in SMP.
Let's check the credits .

I do my best :3
His blood has turned to money, we don't need him anymore.
We already have slow devs as it is, we don't need to stop.

Oh Minecraft community, how you make me facepalm.
