I was on SP today during a thunderstorm, observing my minimap, when I saw a lightning strike on a red dot. So I went outside and a charged creeper was roaming about.
I managed to trap him in one of his friend's craters:
Sadly, a zombie siege was taking place so I had to defend my village, and when I returned the creeper had despawned. I've pleayed Minecraft for 2 years and this was the first (and maybe last) time I legitimately encountered a charged creeper. How rare are these things? I'm curious as to how many people have seen one. If you've seen more than one, how far apart were the sightings? Thanks.
has to be night.... during a thunderstorm.... creeper spawned.... lightning has struck... on the very small area of a creeper... then you have to find it and seen it. very rare played since 1.6 never seen one
For some reason I see them all the time on my newest world. Then, I spend most of my time near the surface, and it thunders around my current project every few minecraft days. Last week, I saw four hanging around in the forests in a small group. Needless to say, I didn't stay near them long.
They are pretty rare, considering I have been playing for a while now and I've only seen one on a multiplayer server after 1.3.1 came out, and the server had to switch to temp SMP until bukkit updated.

There is darkness and shadows in everyone and everything. There's nothing you can do about it, all you can do is adapt.
I embrace it.
