Oay i've settled on an island, and have a nice life there, the thing is right when i got there i only stayed right on the shore and that night i went and killed many animals, i have now found that there are no more animals on my island and i live quite away from any other land mass, is there a way to transport the animals, or will thay spawn, its a really small island, maybe150x150, any tips or suggestions are appreciated, thank you.
First thing to do: press F3 and check what biome you are in.
1. If you are in an ocean biome or desert, animals will not spawn. You will need to go to the nearest landmass and drag them back with wheat.
2. If you are not in an ocean biome or desert, then animals will spawn eventually. If you REALLY need animals now, then go get them anyways, but otherwise you can afford to wait.

You need to go to the large landmass with wheat, and drag the animals back and trap them in some type of area they can't escape from, you then need to breed animals of the same type and harvest the animals once the baby animals are full grown.
See, in the newer updates the animals no longer spawn over time, they are spawned during world creation and those are the only animals you get for that part of the world. (I think it operates by chunks). Once you kill the animals they are gone, they can't spawn.
Animals only spawn in newly generated areas. What I did in a similar situation was remove the railings from an abandoned mine shaft (or you can just craft them yourself) and built a bridge across the sky. I stuffed the animals into carts and pushed them along to their new home/slaughterhouse.

STOP SAYING THIS!!! Animals still respawn, just 400x more rarely than they did during early beta.
