I have been looking all over the internet for a challenge that i haven't tried, so i decided to create one. I present to you...

THE MOB HOARDER



Summary:

Minecraft steve has developed a severe animal obsession. He believes it is his duty from notch to hoard and protect animals no matter what the cost. The piggehs and moo-moos need your help!

Rules:

You must:
-Capture all animals you find and bring them to a central pen
-never kill any animals, be it in your pen or wandering the wilds
-Protect all animals from hotile mobs
-Make your pen out of fences. You can NOT make your animal pen impossible to reach for hostile mobs. There needs to be SOME challenge
-Construct a house that has easy access to and can clearly see the animal pen
-Start over if you witness an animal dying. Steve would go corrupt and stab himself
-Kill all hostile mobs that come close to animals

You are allowed to:
-shear sheep
-bread animals
-shear mooshrooms
-Use eggs for all purposes
-Die, as long as you get back to your farm before sunrise/sunset
-Use wool for all building/crafting purposes

Mobs considered as animals are:
-sheep
-pigs
-cows
-chickens

Scoring system:
-Sheep: 5 pts
-pig: 2 pts
-cow: 2 pts
-chicken: 5 pts
-Breed animal: 1 pt

Bonus:
-Gather 10 wolves to guard your pen: 50 pts (thanks Seref_Kana for the idea)
-Get a squid into a pond in your pen. It does not count if it spawned there, only if you pushed them in: 30 pts

P.S: Making water canals that bring animals to you is cheating, and a banner would be awesome!

JoVaN1, I created so I could play minecraft with a challenge, not just normal minecraft. It's kind of like tree spirit or Cubeaism

i mean i get it all rpg thingy but hoarding animals is boring :/ at least make a goal,like 100 sheeps and 200 pigs = win,something like that

Ikaroka, lighting up the area is not considered cheating

Day 1

I managed to set up the pen around some chickens. +15 pts, total 15

I started a wheat farm around the shell of my barn, and got a little mining done before the next morning. I found 6 iron and 13 coal

Day 2

I made a bucket with my iron and irrigated my small wheat farm. With my spare iron i made some shears and gathered wool for my barn. The chickens always seem to hang around the side of the pen that has the wheat farm on it.

An enderman came close to my chickens that night. I quickly smited it with my chicken-protector powers

What about taming Wolves and making them stand guard as sheepdogs or what not. Should give you points for each Wolf tamed :tongue.gif:

(Bonus: Get a Squid to spawn in a pond on your farm xD)

(Do hostile mobs even attack/kill passive mobs? I've never seen it happen before, or maybe I wasn't paying attention o_0)

I guess i could do some bonus challenges that are worth a lot of points.. And hostile mobs don't attack passive mobs, but stray arrows/explosions can kill them

He could beat himself with a bed if you prefer that

Uh I don't see the point in this challenge. No aggro mob will ever kill a passive mob (unless you are stupid enough to let creepers blow up in your face, or stand behind a passive as a skeleton shoots at you).

Also wolves as guard dogs are a terrible idea, they have sheep addictions and even tamed wolves will go nuts at any sheep nearby, so instead of "Guarding" the passives they will spend their entire time trying to get in and murder all sheep.

Last time I checked, tamed dogs don't kill sheep unless you punch the sheep first.

Can chickens follow you into the nether and end? o.o

I think I'll try this! Starting now, let's try a seed of "Sheep!!!!!" large biomes, structures on, bonus chest, and I'll say anything I think should get me bonus points as I go along. maybe the bonus chest should drop some points off? how about 5 points off from it.

Edit: Spawned in a jungle with lots of sheep! I just walled off a lava pool, and I'm thinking of making my farm near it to keep the pets warm.

Edit: Note to self: lava is not fun to swim in.

Are we aloud to make a barn i will not put gates into it so then the mobs can get in it. Btw i already died like 4 times xD
