That's pretty ordinary for me though, slightly less common is finding three separate mineshafts intersecting one another, a bit more since I'd just explored another complex of four mineshafts for 7 mineshafts in 3 days (on average I find one every other day).
Prior to that the last notable thing I found was this cave system:
In the top half is a rendering of the cave in my Survival world, while the lower half shows the same cave in a Large Biomes world, where it is under land instead of an ocean, so there are more caves higher up. There's also an extra mineshaft because I slightly modded my world so they don't generate to close to large cave systems:

I set off exploring from my (still mid-renovations) woodland mansion base, and soon came across a large chain of Mesa islands, with a couple of small Mooshroom islands a half-day sail away. Lots of surface-level mineshafts:
Including a lost-looking chest on the wrong side of the river:
(i built a little outpost on top one of the mesa forest plateaus (forgot the screenshots, but my house extends over the edge, and has a huge picture window looking out into a bryce-like canyon); i'll be using it as a base of operations for mineshaft explorations and for mining all that shiny gold. my next big project is to connect it to my (local) minecart network and send over a couple of villagers to populate the place - it'll be my first built-from-scratch working village. still pretty far from home, but this station will get me a couple of maps closer... also, all those tracks (and have I mentioned the gold?) will help )
Rowing back home, I encountered a flock of sheep mysteriously stuck on top of a giant 'shroom:
Still haven't found any local jungles - I don't actually remember passing any on the journey to the woodland mansion other than the ones way back near my main house, and i have no jungle wood or cocoa beans (and a sudden need for brown glass and jungle doors )...
I found a desert temple completely buried in the sand, with just the top section of the roofs on the twin towers (the part with the stairs) exposed. If I hadn't seen the stairs, I wouldn't have even noticed it was there.
I found this epic looking Savanna M Biome sitting in a Mesa/Desert while exploring the other day. It's pretty cool. Plan on hopefully trying to build something on it.
Back about when I started my 1.7.10 modded world, I found this structure in the Twilight Forest:
From what I read about this, it is currently uninhabited as of 1.7.10, but is going to be the future home of a final boss in this dimension. This castle is even more impressive and massive than the dark tower that the Ur-Ghast inhabits, which is complicated and tricky to navigate. Note that there is another large castle found on top of glaciers in this realm; it is known as the Aurora Palace, and is the home of the Snow Queen boss.
That's pretty ordinary for me though, slightly less common is finding three separate mineshafts intersecting one another, a bit more since I'd just explored another complex of four mineshafts for 7 mineshafts in 3 days (on average I find one every other day).

That is a mod I made; I'm not willing to make a version for current versions since I do not play on them; pretty much any modding that I do is for 1.6.4, the version I play on; these mods are also not compatible with any other mod except Optifine (maybe some others, but most mods require Forge; even a very simple mod I made (literally one line changed) that removed void fog without the need for Optifine was enough to break Forge, even with no other mods installed, since it overwrote a class that Forge modifies).
Also, here is a wider look at the area I found the cave I mentioned, which is near the bottom-center; near the lower-left and upper-right you can see two even larger/denser cave systems; in particular, the one near the upper-right is the largest and densest cave system I've found in this world (somebody even added it to their seeds website calling it the "biggest cave ever", and certainly, it is impossible for such a cave to ever generate in any newer version, due to changes made in 1.7):
The area between is also the most extensive region of caves (as opposed to a compact cave system) that I've found in this world; for scale the whole area shown is 1248x800 blocks (78x50 chunks). The first two images were made with Unmined (an older version, which I think looks better) while the last was made with MCMap, which I normally use to follow my progress since it only shows caves that have torches in them (I slightly modified the world to remove them from mineshafts so they do not show up before I find them; I also prevented mineshafts from generating in areas of high cave density, so there are less than there would be otherwise (about 25% less, which still means they are almost twice as common as since 1.7); the large cave system near the lower-left has a mineshaft right inside it in vanilla and is much less impressive as a result).
Almost everything you see is also directly interconnected; the only areas that are not are a few caves and ravines, mostly in a relatively cave-free area near the lower-right, more apparent in the MCMap rendering since it doesn't show unexplored caves, and the odd cave near sea level or lava level here and there (cut off by the surface or lava; the only time I mine to reach new caves is where they dip down under lava and I follow the top layer of lava (y=11) until they go deeper or surface, which is technically the same cave).
This entire region also has more than 2,300 caves, much of which I explored; an area this size also has an average of 78 ravines and 39 mineshafts (cave density is actually only about a third higher than the 1.6.4 average, while nearly double the 1.7 average; 1.7 also has a much smaller variation in cave density over even relatively small areas):
I only listed the individual cave systems which were larger than the largest single cave system in 1.7 (size 15 or more); to get this information I used a utility I made that counts the number of caves over an area. You can also pick out the three large cave systems shown above from the clustering of cave systems, such as around -800, -1050, where there are four cave systems with a total of 141 caves within a few chunks of each other (plus smaller cave systems not shown), and another 70 caves just to the south and west for a total of more than 211 caves (I consider the whole complex to be two separate cave systems; the main area is notably much denser than the offshoot to the west, which has some visible separation on Unmined:

Also, you can see that the percentage of caves above layer 59 (the maximum altitude is 126, or 67 layers above 59) is about the same as over just 10 layers between layers 10-19 (the average density is only 14.3% as high); this also applies to 1.7 and is a major hindrance if you want deeper worlds (Customized) since there won't be many caves above sea level (the only way to customize caves is to turn them on or off).
I have found a zombie with an iron sword, Now tell me, What have you found? You are free to comment!

Awhile ago I found an Igloo while flying to a desert.
.
.
The locals weren't a huge fan of me.
No basement, but it was a good find anyways.
Watch out for the crabocalypse. Some say the day will never come. But it will.
Feel free to drop by for a chat whenever.
If you'd like to talk with me about other games, here are a few I play.
Team Fortress 2
Borderlands series (Borderlands 2 is my favorite game, ever. TPS combat is a lot of fun and makes up for the lower-quality story, in my opinion)
Elder Scrolls series
Warframe (IGN is something like That_One_Flesh_Atronach)
Pokémon series (HGSS forever)
Rocket League
Fallout series
Left 4 Dead 2 (Boomer files always corrupt though)
SUPERHOT (SUPERHOT is the most innovative shooter I've played in years!)
Dead Rising series (Dead Rising 2 is one of my favorite games, and the 3rd was a lot of fun. 1st has poor survivor AI and the 4th is bad)
Just Cause series
Come to think of it, I mainly play fighting-based games.
This island that i found looks like some kind of "Gods Island"
