I'm actually hoping Notch changes the entire default textures either toward the end of beta or after beta. I feel like the textures can be a lot better honestly.
why is sandstone in the list? it is a sexy beast of a block!
anyway, in the original texture pack i have to say gravel and then cobble. just... bleh... im honestly glad i changed to painterly since i now can use cobble without my eyes bleeding.

There may be typos in my posts, and due to asbergers, they may not make sense.

I'm sorry Ryan, but this forum disproves your statement...
I hate the default cobble, dirt, and gravel. To me, too much cobble will give you a headache. Gravel is just annoying all the way around. Dirt, just looks weird.
I have switched to a 32x32 pack a while ago, all my problems fixed.

cobble is definitely the worst block imo.
sure i can make sculptures with cobble and they look good in the night.
but when day comes, everything falls apart and i stand in front of my giant creeper face with puke dripping out of the corners of my mouth and blood all over the front of me.

Birch. It looks nothing like the real birch and it looks out of place.
Really? Looks as much like the birch trees we have here as it possibly could imo, given that MC uses 1 meter cubes and the real trees are only about a quarter to a third of that in diameter.
I hate cobble half-blocks.
Cobble is ok but half-blocks stink.

I'm putting Birch at the top because when I first saw it, I could not figure out what it was (at a semi-distance) It also looks like it clashes with whatever else its with.
Cobblestone would be my next. Good news about cobblestone is that I can smelt it to get....well a gray stone color....
Ok, I like color, so for me thank goodness for sheep and dyes :smile.gif:
Glass - Can't see through it. Glad Painterly has several options.
Cobblestone - Only because there's too gorram much of it. It's abundance makes it prime building material. But after seeing any pattern repeated, it becomes eye gouging. Like Netherrack in the Nether.

Nope. I'm fine with all of them too.
