Pretty much as the topic says. I'm hooked on large biomes when making a new world. It makes me think of ways to survive when I gt dumped into a large biome ice plains with only 3 trees around or that annoying island in the ocean with a tree and the knowledge that I need the nether to get out.
My 'best' world is a large biomes with ice plains/mountains for a huge distance all around. I had to use the nether to get sugar cane and chickens (eggs) because the only animals around where useless sheep. Luckily there was a mine shaft with melon seeds so I was happy, but still. Most fun I've had in game trying to start out in that world.
So...back tot eh question: How many of you make large biome worlds? Do you just settle with the one you make first go or make another knowing stuff you need is a long way off? Does it change your tactics at all when starting out?
The ones I really hate are ocean and Jungle, I usually just find sheep and make a bed and have some wood and make 1x1 with some extra features and that never fails to get me past the first night :).
But I cant do that in ocean :C I cant do anything in the ocean..
I tried out the large biomes world type a little while ago. It's great if you like one specific biome (I made my home in an extreme hills biome) but one BIG problem is trying to find all the kinds of blocks from other biomes. I've had to do some pretty extensive searching just to get different tree saplings and other biome specific items. It also makes it a nice challenge to become self-sufficient
However, next time I make a world, I'll be using regular sized biomes, assuming the current method of world creation doesn't change.
I've used Large Biomes for one world I'm currently working on. I'm building some treehouses and I wanted a large Jungle biome to build it in. I had to go through a few worlds before I started in a Jungle biome, but I've stuck with it even though its hard to find stuff like sheep.

Only thing I will be using. I'm still looking for a good extreme hills seed that also has a snowy forest somewhat nearby (no idea what its called). That way I have everything I need.
I think I got an extreme hills with a taiga (snow forest place) near by. I'll check in a bit to see if I kept it or deleted it and remade.
I'm currently hunting for an extreme hills with an ice plains/mountains near by, taking a while though. I have big plans if it happens to generate for me though.
Regarding the above poster saying about rarity of cirtain blocks being a problem. Yes it can be annoying to not have access to say sugar cane or different saplings, but the nether will fix that issue when you progress that far, using it as a fast travel hub.
I normally only use large biomes in worlds where I immediately go off exploring, since they add unnecessary difficulty to access the world's resources, unless you want a challenge.
